However, I feel as if the game could have been quite a bit more epic with not knowing, ala Baldurs Gate I. (Not counting BG II, as it had the companions in the manual.)
I mean, let's consider Daveth and Ser Jory. Right when they joined my party I knew they'd follow the path of Random Ensign #'s 1 and 5. (Which is to say, they were doomed.) Had I not seen the party list, I would have expected to have a new Warrior and Rogue to join my party, and their deaths would have meant all the more.
Not spoiling the possible NPC's also makes more consequence for your actions. Not sparing Zevran, for example, on an evil playthrough, even though he's the only evil rogue.
On a last note, it also makes a player mroe likely to explore, to find the characters that would fill up the party slots. (Which could, or could not be spoiled. The number of them, I mean.)
Since the search function isn't as of yet working, figured I'd mention it. What are your thoughts on it?
