Excuse me please?

After meeting Velanna (the forest witch, who in my opinion, shares a little resemblance with Morrigan, excpet for the blondue hair, but the style is still the same) in the Wending Wood, in the end I chose  her as a companion instead of killing her. (despite her using her skills in setting the tree trolls on me..... I must be a soft touch:P)

Afterwards I met Seranni in the Silvertine Mines, (I'm under the assumption that she is Velaana's sister. I thhink that's correct. If not.... someone please feel free to correct me here) and had all my equipmnet stripped from me and my party.:(

After being told by Seranni that the darkspawn have my stuff, I felt quite confused!:crying:
I haven't really got properly started with the Silvertine Mines yet, but the darkspawn drop a few bits and pieces of useful armour and weapons to get started with.... wich isn't too bad to begin with.

What I really want to know is..... what does Seranni refer to when she says they have my stuff?
Does she mean the armour/equips e.t.c which are dropped by the darkspawn from the start there, or will I get my original stuff back which me and party wore before I enetered the mines?

I really hope that I can get my stuff back at the end!
I had Oghren wearing the sentinal body armour piece (aswell as other stuff) and a rather nice 2 handed great sword that I had added some runes to.

Having had those items taken from me, (which are quite special top me at the moment) it worries me, not knowing whether or not I will get them back. I think I will be disappointed if I don't.:crying:

If I don't get them back, I can cope with it or store them in the Keep's chest beforehand.

Will I get my original stuff back at the end, or not?

The things your party had equipped will be on the darkspawn that vaguely resemble you. Loot them to get that back. The rest of your stuff should be in a chest near, I believe, the qunari merchant.

There's a bug which sometimes surfaces and which prevents you from getting your stuff back. So keep a save from before you go into the mine. You can tell the bug is going to hit if, when you wake up and the Architect is looking down at you, you see black behind him rather than his lab. If you're bugged, go back and take your crap off (just the PC I believe) and go in naked.  Your stuff will then be in the chest at the end.

Actually, jsut removing any DLC items from Origins will avoid the bug, from my experience. If you woke up naked in the cell rather than wearing generic clothing then you are bugged

Just want to assure the OP that this is the correct summary of the situation.
Hopefully, you saved before entering the mine.

(Can't believe Bioware didn't fix this.  Also, if they are not going to/can't, there should be a VERY PROMINENT warning for new players of Awakening.  It is not even listed in the Tech FAQ! Lame.
I get that it is complex.  I get that giving a heads up would ruin the surprise of entering the mines.  It is a clever plot twist. Should have thought of that when you coded it originally, gang.)

I know.. according to their last Awakening patch notes (1.04 I think) they thought this bug happens if you pick the lock of the Silverite mines and go in early, ie before recruiting Velanna. This case they said they can't fix but made no mention about my case.

I went into the Silverite mines after getting Velanna, and even wearing stuff from Awakenings, still got hit by the bug. Fortunately I'd heard about it before, even though I never had it from my first playthrough when I still had Duncan's Sword equipped, so I saved just before going in. Still irritating to have to go through those cutscenes again, even fast forwarding through them.

Hmm.... when said (and I quote) "woke up naked in the cell" (that part is near the beginning of the silvertine mine, so I remember that part) rather than wearing generic clothing.... did you mean "completely naked" as in bare chested, or actually wearing something?

My charcater woke up  wearing very basic clothing. I assume that's what you referred to when you said generic clothing... correct?

This is the bit near the start of the mines where the architect waves his hands and says.... "sleep......" right? Well I don't rememebr seeing a black screen there. So it looks like I maybe okay and that I won't get this bug then?

Completely naked is exactly that, your character is stripped down to their underwear, or nothing all if you have certain mods installed. If you wake up with your character in basic clothing it means you didn't get the bug.

Yeah... I just completed the Silverite Mines about half an hour ago. (from this post i am writing)
Me and my party were wearing basic clothing when we were thrown into the cell at the start.
So I am very glad to say that I got all my original equips back in the end, and it looks like i didn't get that bug after all.... most gladly! :)

The only mod I have in place at the moment, is a quickbar up/down arrows thing which lets you toggle the quickbar up/down so that you can slot more skills. (can't find the link at the moment) It works for  Origins and Awakening.
Looks like it didn't give me that bug in the Silverite Mines then..... THANK THE MAKER!!:P

Having just replayed this bit today, I knew I'd encountered The Bug when my Warden woke up starkers. ;) I did a reload, unequipped everything and went back into the mine, and voila! Was clothed like my companions. (Why couldn't Nate or Anders be naked? I mean...I wouldn't mind...)

Had to get my gear from the chest near the not-a-qunari guy, but at least it hadn't gone poofles (unlike a playthrough with my previous Warden...bye bye Sentinel Armour).

I think someone else (an above poster) explained that reloading a save, and taking off your gear before you go in helps to resolve the bug. I didn't really understand it as well as I did from your reply, (you explained it more clearly) so I didn't get to try that really. So I didn't reload my earlier saved game and take off my gear beforehand.

As I said in my earlier post though, it seemed I was lucky. So gladly.... I got all my stuff back.

That seems a bit strange to me????
Some people have said that their gear appears in the chest at the end, (near the qunari guy) like yours did.
However..... my equips and weapons from each of the evil guys you fight who resemble you and your party appeared on them after I had killed them. BUT.... the rest of my stuff, like poultices and other such things WERE.... in the chest at the end.

It seems to be 1 option for some people and another for others???
How is this so? Do some of us have slightly different versions of the game, or is it just a bit different if you play this game on the X Box 360? (as I know it is available on that game system too)

The way the Silverite Mines section is supposed to work is that you get ambushed by the Architect. Your party wakes up in nothing but basic clothing, you have to fight your way out and slowly get your armor and weapons from other experiments that resemble you and your companions. Then before your confrontation with the Architect there's the qunari merchant and a chest. In the chest is all of your poultices and stuff.

The bug that occurs is at the start when you get captured, if you wake up stark naked it means you've lost your equipment and the chest won't hold all the stuff it's supposed to.

MissJaded - No no, you missed a bit of what I said, I think. :) I reloaded after I got the bug and unequipped my Warden's gear, then entered the mine again. This time she woke up with clothes rather than naked.

It did mean her gear wasn't on the experimental copy, but I got to pick everything up in the chest later (as my gear was inventory stuff). :)

Thank you for your pleasant and helpful reply "Shadow of Light Dragon":)

Hopefully I have understood what you have explained to me this time.
I don't want to repeat every step, but basically..... after completing the silverite mines at the end of it, all your equips were in your Inventory where you put them when you reloaded your saved game, (when you took them all off) instead of being found on the experiment subjects.

AND...... as usal, all potions and other such things were in the chest the end.

Have I understood that more correctly now?
