So I've read about the "green screen" and "-nomovie" ideas to work
around the single core freeze problem, but I'm having a heluva time
finding the actual explanations of these fixes. I can't get past the loading screen after you select the appearance and class of your character. Please someone repost or link driectly to the fixes.

Not yet. You fill out a complete Problem Report, first. Graphics drivers and hardware are often causative, so let's eliminate those right away, shall we?

If you're trying to use a single core, the very first thing you need to do is make sure you have the latest patch (1.02). It fixes some single core compatibility problems, and sometimes is all you'll need.

Yes I already went through the problem report process. It didn't help. But I got the green screen files and it's working great. woohoo!
