Thank you, Lugaid, for your translation. Who would have thought that anyone could translate anime facial expressions into text?

This actually happens a lot and is the result of a lot of "sayings" (like I think "QQ" is meant to represent crying eyes or something, and I guess smiley faces, e.g. :-) come under this too). Personally, I don't mind using abbreviations like "U", "R" (R = are), "C" (C = see) etc in text messages or on chat things where you mightn't have time to write out your response (on here it's different, because I do) though I don't go in for it that much, but I've never liked anime facial expressions anyway, full stop, it's the reason I hate all manga and manga-based cartoon animes, so typing something like "QQ" is just anathema to me... Still, while I don't really like abbreviations and stuff myself, a lot of people do (very modern), which is fine, but there's a bigger point than "English snobbery" when we have non-native English speakers here who are putting in a good deal of effort to understand us anyway. It's not fair to make their lives tough for them because we're too lazy to type three-letter words.

So, to those people who like these things:
"lol QQ moar pwned, rofl zzz ;-D"

Yes and highly unlikely at this point.

I'm not sure what's to be sad about.  Given how the game was forced out too early, and all the other problems that transpired against it, frankly I'm somewhat amazed it's still slowly trundling along with a heartbeat in late 2010.

I guess that just shows how great the collective community is around the game.

@Ghost: I would like to thank you for the explanation, but well... the point is not supposed to be "oh, here a list of abbreviations and emoticons that I use, so it's all right". The point should be "ok, from now on, I'll avoid all of this in order to make people not native English able to understand me without problem"

That would be kind!

Yes, Ghost, thank you for the translation. I hope I have not offended you with any of my posts and if I have I apologize. Abbreviated communication has a long history in English, for instance in military radio traffic where time is of the essence. Texting certainly seems another appropriate venue. However, many of us who post here appreciate the luxury of being able to indulge our desire to use the language to its fullest, in all it's richness and diversity. Those who are not native speakers appreciate communication in common, grammatical English, since that is what they have learned and best understand. And no, I don't have a stick up my ***.;)

As for MoW, it really is worth the purchase. The story is interesting and the quality of production is at least as good, if not better than, the official Obsidian releases. Your are stuck with the two companions (I would have liked more choices) but they are designed to fit the plot and are at least amusing. Plus, you can take a "good" or "evil" path so there is some replayability. I'll play it again at some point, something I rarely do.

Welcome to the forum. =]

Oops, I guess I missed one. No spoilers, maybe I'll catch it when I replay. Thanks.

Since we are speaking about MoW... do you know if only an English version is available or if there are also some translations for other languages? That would be wonderful... just for skills and spells, that actually aren't translated literally from English (and I can assure you that understanding that "haste" = "fretta", corresponds to our "velocità"= "speed" is not so obvious!)

does not "fretta" also loosely translate to "worry?"

I don't know if MoW has translations. Google "Ossian Studios" and go to their website and ask. I could be wrong.

I have the game in Spanish and played MoW in English, so as far as I know, that's the only version available. But the menus, spells (both names and descriptions), feats, etc, should be in the original language (Spanish in my case). Only dialogs, journal entries and the like will be in English. Just like most community modules, if you've played any.

"Worry" is "preoccupazione" it has nothing to do with "fretta".

@Arklezth: thank you, that could be a really useful information!

Well, there is a Polish language version of MoW (sold on hardcopy DVDs, too). But I don't think this really helps here :)

Poland is special because CDProjekt does the localization for Atari games. Or at least the NWN ones.

there is no question like which is better if you own both. just play them and decide it for yourself.

Each one has his/her own tastes. Try both and then tell us your opinion. :-)

There is a whole other "NWN vs DA" thread around here somewhere, but these sorts of discussions are best avoided since they all eventually end up descending into arguements (that one stayed civil for a long time, I'm glad to say, but at the end of the day it just comes down to certain pros and cons and your own personal tastes).

yeah i agree Fred some might like NWN more and some might like DA more , then they will start ranting against each other's game lol

hmm i think i have to go for NWN 2, i seriously hope they consider of conitnuing and great news i just seriously just finished the MOTB campaign finally.....great story never expected it , very nice ending

But i got a question about lvl of arcane casting and divine casting , uh i forgot lets say if Arcane magic needs like 11 INT or WISDOM to start casting right , if i want to cast up to lvl 3 Arcane magic must i need 31 INT / WISDOM or 13 would be enough? Because i want to play multi cast so i cant actually just dump all the stats into the attribute

Arcane casting requires 10 INT +1 for each spell level you want to cast. Divine casting requires the same WIS. So, if you want to cast both level 3 arcane and level 3 divine spells you need both INT and WIS of 13. However, Favored Soul spellcasting is based on CHA, so even though they draw their spells from the Cleric (divine) spell list, they would need CHA=13 to cast level 3 spells.
