Whenever you travel somewhere on the world map, make sure you either Supress or Devour something before that if you have any uses left (I think you can use it once per day). Eternal Rest is another good alignment spirit-eater ability that you may get in the game, and it allows you to get Spirit Energy by putting undead souls to rest.
Playing Evil is another bag (and way more fun in terms of the curse I'd say) but that's the Good way of doing things anyways.

1 of the biggest prob its the stupid spirit eater thing i read the instruction given by NWN but i cant understand , i noe tat i must like devour some spirit to keep it from killing me can someone give me a guide or teach me wat should i actually do to keep alive
At one point, I consumed a spirit which took me to full hunger. To get out of that, I had to get outside to the world travel areas. When you travel on the world map, choose a two day trip. The short trips on the world map cause very little spirit loss (compared to resting) but restore your Satiate cooldown counter. Then use the Satiate ability with Gann, and Okku with you, plus summon all the elementals you can and stand next to telthor creatures. This improves how well the Satiate works. Now keep doing these hops back and forth until you have your hunger all the way down. From there it should be no trouble to maintain. The consume undead feat does not increase hunger, so go down to the dungeon with undead and eat up.
Considering how much of a time sink that is, you might want to just search the Thieves' Guild website for the cheat codes since it will save your real life time.

Just to clarify: the described ability is "Suppress". And yes, lowering the craving to minimum and only ever using Suppress and Eternal Rest (the good path) is the easy way to contain and control the curse.
The effect of Suppress depends on how many spirits are very near you when you activate it. So for best results find a group of 2-3 telthor animal spirits, have everyone in your party summon an elemental (Safiya, Gann and Dove can use summoning spells, the rest can probably use a bowl of water elementals or some such, scrolls or summon that named air elemental from the first dungeon; having Okku might also help) and only then use Suppress. Certainly use it always before making world map transitions or resting, as this will recharge the skill.
On the verge of cheating is moving between Mulsantir gates area and Mulsantir interior via the world map while repeatedly using Suppress. There are even some Telthor spirits outside the gates....
.
Like has been said, the evil path is way more fun, but also requires you to know what you're doing, because the clock's really ticking then.

Yes, addiction raises when you Devour a lot. Each time you use Supress will lower the addiction a bit. If you give in to the curse and max out your addiction, you will get a few special perks that I can't remember at the moment (Concealment is one of them I think?). But the downside is of course that you need to feed much more often.
If one plays evil and give in to the curse, there are a few special abilities that you can get. For example, one of them allows you to devour humanoids as well.

Yes, sorry. I meant "Suppress" not "Satiate". Satiate is only to be used when you are nearing death.Haplose wrote...

If you are around spirits who aren't attacking you, but you want to feed, you can use Provoke Spirit to make them hostile.

Bad move. And missing Eternal Rest made it even worse. It might be that only the Evil path will be viable now for you. You can unlock feats which let you devour humanoid souls and eventually a feat that lets you feed on several targets at once. There are also two more fun feats, that you probably won't get to use much, but especially the last one is uber.
Or you can sort of cheat and spam short-distance world map travel + Suppress till you bring your Craving down to manegeable levels.

Easiest way to do this: Go to the Ashenwood area as soon as possible. Find a bunch of spirits and suppress around them. Rest, then find more spirits and suppress again. And again. And again. Soon suppress will restore more energy than lost when resting and your craving will go down to zero. (If you already have high craving make sure you start at near 100 energy.)
Then, never devour again unless it's part of the dialog options.

Also, pause the game whenever you're doing something that can be done while paused. You can burn a lot of time that you don't need to.
I released an override here http://nwvault.ign.c...s.Detail&id=324 that prevents the loss of spirit eater points when the SE is standing still peacefully or when the wait until dusk feature is used. This prevents the "oops I forgot to pause before leveling up and manipulating my inventory" problem.

Where are they supposed to be listed? I am getting pretty low so I don't want to continue if I'm just going to ultimately die and have to redo a whole bunch.
EDIT: Only mods I have that are not strictly cosmetic are the Kaedrin's PrC Pack, TonyK's AI, and Charlie's UI (and the UI is borderline just a cosmetic thing).

And to your other question, you should see that options in the character sheet, background feats.

No feats to either resists or consume (I have fought spirits), still no effing spirit pet (even though I used the toolset to give it to myself just to be sure).
Am I totally SOL? Nothing kills excitement quite like having to redo on the exact. same. character.
EDIT: I tried removing Kaedrin's pack and loading an ealier save (right after I fought the bear) but it seemed to make no difference. I will try removing the other mods when I get back from work.
EDIT EDIT: Found this old thread...so I guess I will attempt to redo the bear fight (didn't make it THAT much past that I guess... =/).
This still does not explain my Telthor Companion feat not showing up, though, as I was whining about in my other thread.

EDIT: Further update: the dm_god command doesn't seem to work for me now either. I started to use it to just blow back through the bear fight but I still take damage/die.
