for me, it is an old nintendo 64 game called Aidyn Chronicles:  The first mage, which is my all time favorite rpg.  According to these reviews, you might think this is the worst game ever, but it had everything an rpg should have regarding loot, exploration, and monster types.

This is a link of the reviews that bash my favorite to unbelievable lengths:  http://www.gamefaqs....&topic=48312364

WoW, the Witcher, bits of Archangel, and Drakensang due to the name(I once confused the two). I'm playing it fair and didn't mention Baldur's Gate series, Kotor2, NWN2 etc.

NWN2, too. It's almost the same game (party of different chars, relationships between party members, Lord of the Rings-like story, tactical combat etc.)

Drakensang: The Dark Eye

It's getting a bit of a signum for you to make threads with long titles, isn't it?

Some of the screenshots have actually reminded me of Dungeon Siege (in the pink clouds of nostalgia kind of way)....

Witcher, NWN2 and (oddly) Dungeon Siege as well. Must be the way the group looks while zoomed out or something

The game play etc I'm not sure since I haven't played a lot of these types of games but the theme reminds me of The Lord of the Rings. Different races battling against monsters 'n' all. I'm glad they kept the art style dark and realistic because there was talk that it was gonna look like WOW.

From what I've seen it reminds me quite a bit of The Witcher, another single player RPG. Key differences being that The Witcher has no character creation whatsoever, nor party mechanics. The setting is similar however in that it's a 'realistic fantasy' with darker overtones and a more mature mindset.

It reminds me of baldurs gate, baldurs gate 2, NWN, KOTOR, mass effect...

Ah SHOOT. I didn't see the rest of the title due to the fact it was 4210 feet long.

Oblivion, for one. And a lot of MMOs, actually, just based on the combat.

Absolutely none.

It is unique in it's failure...

Pause and Play combat, no running up on your own accord and slaughtering whomever you at that moment desire to slaughter? Seriously but that's just stupid -.-

10% exploring in an 80-100 hour long game? What is this, an interactive movie? a ton of strategy pause, click, play, watch combat, and another ton of nicely made cinematics to say "uuuhhh...aaahhh" to, like its ****ing Newyears eve?

Yep...it reminds me of absolutely nothing. But atleast they can say they set an entirely new milestone for just how bad a game needs to be to be DAO bad.

It actually kind of reminds me of Arcanum, which is the only game I can remember playing where npc's really reacted to your race and your status as a mage or scientist (I remember one pleasant drunk dwarf who bought my human PC a drink, and who, on a later playthrough, beat the ever living snot out of my elf PC)

Very poor effort at trolling.  0/10.

The "10% Exploration" has been debunked on a couple of occasions...so QQ until you play the game...

And DA reminds me of Tecmo Super Bowl for the Genesis...

Definitely NWN2. Not the same game, but closer than I can imagine any game being.

I certainly hope it isn't like Drakensang or The Witcher...

None for now. I do not create an opinion of a game until I have actually played it or its predecessor (of which DA:O has none). It does seem similar to many in the genre, just like all FPS games are the same with slightly different flavors.

Dragon Age: Origins is exactly like BC's Quest for Tires. If you don't believe me, watch this.

Nothing yet.. I won't be able to compare it to anything until I play it. From videos I don't see anything that makes me think it will play like any old games I've played..
