Absolutely none.

It is unique in it's failure...

Pause and Play combat, no running up on your own accord and slaughtering whomever you at that moment desire to slaughter? Seriously but that's just stupid -.-

10% exploring in an 80-100 hour long game? What is this, an interactive movie? a ton of strategy pause, click, play, watch combat, and another ton of nicely made cinematics to say "uuuhhh...aaahhh" to, like its ****ing Newyears eve?

Yep...it reminds me of absolutely nothing. But atleast they can say they set an entirely new milestone for just how bad a game needs to be to be DAO bad.

NWN 2, except not D&D... so theres less classes... and spells... and races... and story... and the new attribute system doesnt make sense (What does cunning do?) but its not D&D anymore so at least I wont sound like a D&D when I talk about the game.

I <3 Tieflings! ...Dangit

I can't believe Duke Nukem Forever hasn't been mentioned yet.

I certainly hope it isn't like Drakensang or The Witcher...

Couldn't agree more. Although I thought the Witcher was quite good. Drakensang's spells left me totally unimpressed, as did the combat.

This game is NWN3 without a D&D licence and with a proprietary ruleset.

Some of the scenery reminds me of Lord of the Rings Online. The entrance of Orzammar is also pretty much Ironforge from WoW. The interior reminds me of Blackrock Depths. Of course, Orzammar is also uncannily similar to Orgrimmar in name.

Gameplay-wise, the game has a lot of MMO-like spells ("swipe with both weapons, dealing extra damage", etc.). Coupled with the threat mechanics, Dragon Age feels like a MMO in which you control the whole group.

For some reason, it doesn't remind me of NWN2 at all. It might be because in both NWN games, most of the fun for me was creating characters with different races and class mix and DAO is pretty lacklustre in that respect.

DA: Origins reminds a bit of The Witcher, because of the games focus on how non-humans live, and how elves and dwarfs are treated (or were treated). Maybe also Planescape: Torment because of the deep background and lore for the story, Fallout, Arcanum and Temple of Elemental Evil, maybe too.

Dungeon Siege II, especially when you go to the Dalish camp. In my opinion, the song sounds like the one from Amanlu'.

It reminds me of Baldur's Gate 2... I've been waiting for that for 10 years ^^

It reminds me of Baulder's Gate 3. Lets see that.

DAO is the spiritual sucessor and amazing. -worships-
but I would still love to see BG3.

Haven't played the games but the obvious reference point - Lord of The Rings. Then WoW, Diablo. I haven't played any other fantasy style games.
