I know its a random thought but commander shepherd is the pretty much the ultimate larger than life hero. He is like the super heroes from comics like superman etc (but without the super powers).
I think in my opinion he most resembles Captain America and the character matching him very well especially how in 1940s the government used him in the comics as a super solider pretty much (a.k.a. how they use commander shepherd).
Give me your opinion on this or even you can say he/she reminds you of anyone else (obviously except the real life people they are based on). Doesnt have to be a super hero could be anyone from a comedian, actor etc
Does Commander Shepherd Remind anyone of Captain America

Not really. Commander Shepard fits the "hero" archetype, and that's pretty much it.

I don't know Captain America, but he reminds me of John Shepard from SG:Atlantis. Not just because of the name.

Yeah, he's just a hero. He's not some super soldier like Master Chief, though he is technically a bionic man due to the cybernetics from the Lazarus Project. Stilll throughout ME1 he was just a man, and continuing to do his job in ME2 and beyond.

Pretty much what he said, if you have to compare him to someone in the marvel universe I'd say Nick Fury.PARAGON87 wrote...

Definitely reminds me of Captain America.
Dies after becoming a living legend in ME1.
Brought back to lead a squad (Avengers) in ME2.
I even headcannon a backstory for my Shepard that's taken directly from Captain America's backstory...and I feel it fits perfectly in the ME universe for a Soldier Shepard...
"Project Vitality was an Alliance and Cerberus joint project, the sole purpose of which was to create human super soldiers.
The project used Cerberus research data and enabled Alliance scientists to create a unique serum to genetically enhance soldiers. Three subjects were chosen to test the serum. The project was deemed a failure and shutdown by the Alliance when two of the three subjects had an allergic reaction to the serum, resulting in their deaths. With the project shutdown and all ties to Cerberus severed, the Alliance kept the project secret. Only the highest ranking officials of the Alliance know the truth about Project Vitality and its connection to Cerberus. This information was even kept from the one successful subject of the project, Commander Shepard."
