in future he thinks to release a full package “cutscenes HD „or “720p HD „we will be satisfied of having sources HD to overwrite with those who are disgusting....while you keep the good ones!!!
you have used the blink video with datarate 1300000, when you could make 1800000 or 2200000! or an other best!
in almost all the world by now the resolution is 1920x1080 or 1680x1050 (seems to me is only remained zimbawe and the burundi to use other formats)
But do not take the ******, we have to buy all a ps3?
thanks!
p.s. "on who is the best, we expect the best and not mediocrity"

Second, I asked an extra DVD or DLC. those that use 720p, it can remain so without any discussion of this post (including those who use the laptop)
Of course! are a serious player, what else should I be here!

10% of gaming population on steam uses 1920x1080.Saibh wrote...
Yeah, I completely disagree that most people have that resolution. Maybe most hardcore PC gamers, but I know my 1920x1080 monitor is quite the shock to people who see it.
12% use 1680x1050
around 15& use 1280x1024
and another 10% are ballin' on the 1024x768 rez
Those are the most prominent resolutions in a community of about 6-8 million casual and hardcore gamers. FullHD is the way we're going and it's not going slower just because your living room disagrees mate.
Wait. My numbers were off. there are even more using the greater resolutions and less on the lower ones.

Which is almost bewildering, since the ME1 pre-rendered cutscenes all looked like they were high-res to me.

On my 50' Plasma TV, the pre-rendered cutscenes look like crap.
Word, I'm on a 47' plasma rollin' 1920x1080 and they look terrible.

you watch the video trailer for me2 on PS3 .... then tell me if it is right that we look at the PC gamer in this way.
Personally, I believe it was intentional.
This includes the sudden rise in "XBOX360 controller incompatibility" issues.
A possible solution is in the works that may, hopefully, restore the PC's status as an equally profitable platform.

...the second the videos play though....It's like a throw back to Mantis on floppy disks*...have the same issue with Dragon Age...please BioWare, keep the graphics setting / engine for the videos, the cut scenes are awesomely scripted but massively let down by the reduction in resolution.
* it really isn't that bad, was major exaggeration for effect.

Yeah pretty sure the cut scenes on the xbox are the same resolution as the game on the xbox, so when the cut scenes happen on xbox, they blend seamlessly. When playing on computer with a higher resolution, they're still 720p, but are lower quality than the game itself. So they look 'poor' quality.
Did that make sense?
If you're talking about pre-rendered cutscenes (eg. when you see the Normandy SR2 flying towards Omega), then no, they're much lower resolution. They might not seem as bad if you're playing on a Standard Definition television, but on a HD set, there's a clear difference between the movies and the actual game.

Must have been watching it running the game at 720p as well then, because I didn't see any difference between the game and the cutscenes on the xBox.
Regardless, it's definitely something that has bothered me since KOTOR days.

It's only a small difference in number of pixels.

in conclusion: BioWare will certainly have high-quality video sources, you can put in the form of DLC (fee), for those like me want an excellent product. I do not think that there are additional costs for them.

then, I took all the videos from the folder me2 | Mass Effect 2 | BioGame | Movie | ... all files are .bik. using the official software of Bink video, "radtools", I tried to do a better compression. the result was nothing, I had an increase of MB for almost the same result. Considering that the data rate for 720p HD (1280x720) can be set between 1,200,000 and 1,800,000. analyzing the video data rate of me2 I have seen that it is 1300000. (Those are to be used for PS3 1.2000000 to 2.2000000). These specifications can be found on the official website of Bink, under compression settings:

You can not get a better picture from amping up the bitrate, since your source has a low one already.
The only thing you could do is to upscale the video to another resolution (1080p) and then try some video editing a la blur/sharpen/etc tools.
We would need BW to give us the high-res/high-bitrate versions of their videos to make new ones, we could actually use.

I have done several tests with radtools. But nothing is better for me .. the problem is another: the encoding used in. Bik me2 to 234 different codecs were used. features of standard video blink .. ... in any case have the high-resolution video sources are the purpose of this topic.
I almost forgot: If anyone thought that the shadows of the video. Bik depend on the configuration and tried to change this for better quality, lost time. The videos were recorded in that way (porting?). try to watch it using the reader radtools .... horrible.
