That list of sidequests is pitiful.

I have to agree with you, that list is really ... short. That's quite a disappointment. I hope the actual side quests are long.

I tend to think that when you can still count the sidequests, it's just a too short of a list.

I think that there are multiple quests to many "sidequests". That would make those listing groups, not just one quest. For example "Favors for Certain Interested Parties" sounds like multiple quests. Plus there is an achievement for doing 15 job board quests. Orzammar just can't be one quest, I am sure there are several things to do there.

The chapter for Side Quests is divided by areas...I find it hard to believe that there's only one side-quest in Denerim, Orzammar or the Origins.

Now that I read them over again, instead of a casual glance, you're entirely right. They're sorted by region.
"Favours for Certain Interested Parties" is probably named such because they span over several regions.

Did anybody else notice that Loghain was in the companions section?

Indeed. Party Camp is probably quests you do based on companions.

Nope. No one but you noticed. BTW, did you read the last sentence in the original post? Image IPB

As Varenus Luckmann said they're sorted by region, so the number of side-quests is unknown.

Seems like a nice book to have wish we could get prior to game coming out. Know I will be busy playing game as soon as I get it.

From amazon.co.uk;

* Bonus Material: A special 100+ page section gives an in-depth look into the workings of Bioware Studios,
developer of Dragon Age. This behind-the-scenes look features a studio biography, concept artwork, interviews

If every region has about 20 side quests then I'm very happy...it will make a very good game...

The side quest list isn't that short if you keep in mind there could be multiple quests located in the general area.

While getting Loghain is awesome and a dream come true. I can't imagine getting him early enough to be a real character proper. More like a temp npc gotten at the end of the game and thus given true npc status despite not having real time with him in your party.

I'd imagine that he'd be an optional party member that will only join if you've fulfilled the necessary requirements.

You're right though, Faerieheart. I don't see him joining until late in the game.

Yeah, I'm guessing the way they are going to handle having him so short a time is by having your previous interactions affect his starting scale towards whether likes or dislikes you or not. This way you're not stuck trying to get a lot of influence that the other npcs had within an insanely short amount of time for him.

At first I had the same reaction about how many sidequests there were in game. Then I thought of Fallout 3 which had a few sidequests but were fairly long and had multiple objectives that made it very satisfying (this is of course not taking into account the freeform quests the game had as those are different).

I'm almost tempted to get the guide just so I know the exact skills the specializations give. I hate building characters blind.

I really have to stop reading those, but that was so tempting... Loghain...

Thanks you for the info, I think I have to avoid spoilers now, well, will try to.

There is currently no list detailing how many sidequests there are. That TOC shows sidequest REGIONS.

I'll point out that there are fewer sidequests in the game than in previous BioWare games. Most sidequests actually feed into the main questline and are composed of mini-quests, if that makes sense.
