So you had a massive crash while playing DAO that made you have to reinstall asus and nvidia drivers?  Or was it a different game that crashed? You had to reinstall the drivers just to use the computer?  What did it do exactly?

I was playing DAO - it crashed and restarted my computer - I went through a long cycle of restarting the computer and having it almost start then restart till I finally got online. Had to enter safe mode a number of times - there was no error message. Nothing like that ever happened before. I can play NWN 2 ok, I can access my email, facebook, etc. Can go to the website, can post in forums, can chat with the support people. When I try to play the game( I also deleted all my saves(sob) in case it was them that had corrupt data or something) I create the character, hit play, choose easy and bam back to desktop.

Note the thing that worked to getting my computer to work was I took a ride downtown to do an errand. I came home after about an hour away and my computer started right up.

Sounds like a pretty major crash. I'd try uninstalling and then reinstalling the video drivers, and would recommend running checkdisk and memtest http://www.memtest.org/

Also would be a good idea to check the temperature of your hardware.

nothing showed up on check disk, I have no idea what to do with the stuff on memtest - I downloaded t but there is nothing to run - I am not a tech expert, merely a gamer. Going to check under the hood in a minute. lol.

Everyone with this type of problem should try windowed mode.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? Played through once, no problem, then tried to play again with new character. Game crashes every time after I select class and race and click next. Funny thing is, I can still continue my first game with no problem.
