Just because they aren't using the Warden for the sequel does not mean his/hers story is neccesarily ended. They can easily reintroduce the Warden if they want to for another game. However, Hawke plays such an essential role for Thedas that BioWare felt the players would like to play as this character to really understand just how it all happened. I'm looking forward to experience first-hand the story of Hawke. Let the Warden have a well deserved rest.

I personally, definitely, don't want a "recurring character" type to Dragon Age. We have enough games out their overly focused on 1 specific character. If you have different characters for each iteration, I think it allows much more freedom to talk about the world.

Since we play as someone other than the Warden we get to see the results of our actions as our warden makes them. This makes the story less based off of a single character. Also it adds more weight to the sacrifice. I prefer starting as a new character because the warden is already powerful and would hate to start at level1 again as the same character

No, you're not alone, not in the slightest. But as EmperorSahlertz up there pointed out, not using the Warden for DA2 doesn't necessarily mean his story is done - Witch Hunt seems to suggest the exact opposite, in fact.

Not much to do but play DA2 and hope for good news come DA3.

Ok, maybe this looks like a whiner post, i'm sure DA2 will be a very good game, and I will buy it. But I feel like there are so many more storys to tell about DAO that the DLC:s didn't bring up.

And I don't think DA2 will tell us this, even thou' I'm sure it will be amazing. I just don't like stuff to be unfinished, especially an amazing game and story as DAO! : )

While at first it was a bit odd, I do now like the idea of playing Hawke, and at the end of the day while the Blight features a little at the beginning of DA2 ultimatially its not what DA2 is about, so it would have been more weird to play as a Grey Warden when it has nothing to do with the Blight/dark spawn.

It was a joke poking fun of a question with a very incredibly obvious answer.

To be honest...I'm very, very dissapointed with Witch Hunt.

And certainly, I'd love to have the control of my Warden once again. But it's too early to guess what will happen.

You have the right to be dissapointed. But for all we know , you could probably like even more the story about Hawke.
If you start reading a book with the mindset that you will hate it.You will probably hate it because your  though about the novel are already set in stone . That what we call fanboyrism or brainwashing.

Truth be told Witch Hunt was a bit of a let down (and thats coming from a Morrigan fan) it just felt like I had spent £5 odd for about an hours worth of advertisement for Dragon Age 2.

Why is it that everyone complains about the "Mass-effect-ifying" of Dragon Age, then turns around and complains that the one gimmick that pretty much defines the Mass Effect trilogy (importable main character and decisions) is missing from DA2?

That being said, I do hope that DA2 and subsequent games do follow up in some way on the Morrigan story.

i was kinda dissapointed at first to hear this news. Felt like the game was becoming more like mass effect that way and i loved the origins aspect of DA:O but now im excited to see where the story will go from here and who it will include. All in all i wish i could still use my warden from DA:O but im definitely looking forward to the games alternate point of view

Well, for me it's not only the warden. For me it's also the other characters, and unfinished storys that deserves more than a short conversation or a cameo role. The DLC:s don't cover this for me, and I doubt that DA2 will do this, since it seems that it will be more action like ME (with conversation, but not as much as DAO)

Aw c'mon. Don't you want to give Hawke and his companions a chance? What if they're awesome?

Who is to say that a lot of those characters won't be part of the DA setting though? If you tell everything about those characters right away, you essentially remove them from the setting, after that point.

I would much rather the characters be apart of the world, then a part of a specific story. That is my take, anyway. Now, if they don't plan on using these characters as part of the setting, I'll be a little disappointed, but I would still rather have a new story to tell about the world, then making sure they finish up every loose end, with a game, with a lot of multiple endings.

Wait, how do you know there's not as much conversation as in DA:O? Have you gotten a look at the dialogue while we weren't looking? Because I distinctly remember reading that they've completely blown the word budget. And considering that DA2 is going to be shorter than DA:O, that's got to be a lot of talking.

I don't see where your opinions are coming from. I mean, I accept that everyone has them and that they often differ from mine, but you do seem to be pulling things out of the air.

As I have said several times, i'm sure DA2 will be amazing BUT I feel that they left too many questions unanswered from DAO. This doesn't mean that I won't like DA2, but I feel that they could have done betters DLC:s/Expansions to tell us this, instead of rushing DA2! : )

Arathor, there are already many existing threads on the subjects that you bring up. It would be best to look into them.
