Hi!
Is it only me who are very disappointed that they wont make a DA2 with your Grey Warden instead of this Hawke guy? Sure DA2 can be awesome, but I feel that so many questions are unanswered even after the DLC:s. There are so many more storys to tell about my warden, Morrigan, Leliana.
As I understand DA2 will have a 10 year span and will start during the blight. But I feel that the Witch Hunt DLC have a weird ending. I don't like that characters that have so much more to give just disappear or will be mentioned in a short conversation, or show up in a short cameo role.
Is it only me who feels this way, and what's your thought about this? And DA2?
Judging by the posts on these forums you arent the only one (dispite what some people say in this thread) however not being able to play as the warden doesnt bother me too much, my real gripe is having to play as a predefined character instead of being able to play my own but then thats just how it is.
As for the warden if it were upto me I would probably leave the story unfinished (though I havent played Witch Hunt yet so I dont know if it opened up a can of worms that needs finishing) and leave it to the imagination of the players to finish his or her story. Sometimes it is best to leave some stories untold.

"I'm disappointed with this!" "I'm disappointed with that!" *Whine, whine* *Cry, cry*...Enough already! The game hasn't even come out yet! No one has played anything pertaining to Dragon Age 2 enough to know if they're truly disappointed!
I'm disappointed with threads like this.

They threw in too many permutations for the ending of DAO. The Warden could be dead, a king, travelling, staying at home, married, etc etc etc. It'd be a complete nightmare to write the character into a sequel, in any meaningful way - for the same reason that ME1's possibly-dead characters didn't play a big role in ME2 and ME2's possibly-dead crew probably won't be the focus in ME3.

Yes, here I am, voicing my disappointment with this thread. There's nothing wrong with me voicing my opinion about the thread... Actually in the thread... And not just hurrying to click on New Topic and create a thread about how I'm disappointed with this thread. Because there's already this thread to voice my opinion. I don't need to start another thread about it. Do you get my point, now?

Besides, the Warden stopped a Blight. The rest would feel shallower and unimportant to him/her. I'd rather have a new protagonist so the challenges s/he faces are properly scaled to his/her previous performance.

You could always create a thread complaining about complaining threads in general but then somebody will create a thread complaining about threads that complain about complaining threads, and so on.

Regarding the open threads of DAO, from what I understood you will be able to introduce somehow the story of your Warden in DA2, so perhaps we'll see the resolution of some of those open threads, from a different angle.
I am actually quite excited about the idea, I hope they make a good job out of it!

And if you read the whole thread you realize this. And I don't cry about it, I just think Bioware could have done it better.
And if you doesn't like this thread, don't read it?

But I don't think they are "rushing" to DA2, probably they felt the time for it was right.

Well as I have said several times now, I'm sure DA2 will be awesome. But I think they ending for the Grey Warden was terrible. At least they could have put some effort in the DLC or expansions instead of rushing DA2.

Except it may not be the ending for the warden.

But also, David Gaider mentioned in the DA2 Podcast No. 4 that there are several "slow burning" plots in action. So just because you didn't get a specific resolution to a question now doesn't mean it may not be developed slowly over the course of several stories.

For one, Bioware had an very interestin approach with the Origins, but what that ended up doing for me was create a huge psychological distance between the identity of a Warden and that of my character. After Ostagar, the game just sticks you into ''I wuv Wardens!'' mode. You have to identify yourself as such, you're supposed to internalize their mission (this is why the Sloth Demon Fade dream for you was the end of the Blight). We never meet any Grey Wardens beside Riordan, and the whole game is one series of ''gotcha'' moments - first that the Joining could kill you, then that the Joining will kill you in 30 years time, and then if you want to stop the archdemon you have to kill yourself.
I just really prefer the approach with Hawke, who is not a Warden. Honestly, I would even have bought into the Warden identity if Bioware gave a better hook - for example that each Origin was overrrun by the darkspawn. Then you have a compelling reason to want to be a Warden.
