But in the end, if the story is good, if the characters are as well written as for DAO, romances include male/female, male/male, female/female and if the gameplay is as good, then I don't think I'll be disappointed.

That being said VO can be a double edge sword, we are losing flavour in the interactions (less options to choose from in the dialogues means less options that can convey what I think my character should feel) in favour of gaining immersion, in Mass Effect male Shepard never conveyed emotion or attachment and so failed short to me at least of enhancing that immersion, on contrast female Shepard was very well done and it enhanced it. So we will see where DA2 stands at, but im holding my judgement until I can play it

Well, since my warden is currently residing in a spiffy tomb in Weisshaupt, how am I going to play DA2 if I don't get a new hero?
43 hours of staring at the inside of a coffin lid.
Conversation options: 'Decompose' 'Twitch' 'Reanimate'.
It would certainly save on art resources.

Or you send someone to revive him. Morrigan or Flemeth perhaps.

There are others that agree with you, but the fans that cross each day on the calendar are many more. So we win!

Or, we could have DA3: The Revenant Warden, though I'm not sure that's a game I'd really want to play.....

and leliana of course
I agree with you, but lets hope they do something about it.
I hope that the VO don't ruin the conversations between the main character and the other party members. That was a big part of DA:O, to hear Leliana tell you tales, or have a sarcastic conversation with Morrigan. I hope they don't make the conversations shorter just because they want more action. Anyone knows how DA2 conversations will be? Shorter or the same as DA:O? Except the conversations tree from MA and the VO..

So anyone who made the ultimate sacrifice is SOL, with DA3?
But people who did the ultimate sacrifice could use their warden in The Awakening! ; ) They could choose to start an orlesian or use and old save! If they make DA3 with the warden, maybe you can choose between starting a new character or importing the old one. Or why not DA3 where you can choose between importing your Warden or Hawke from DA2: Like that ever would happen?!

Ya, we could, but our desicions either didn't matter do to retconing. And if we started a new character as the orlesian, then we did not get the decisions to transfer over. So we already got screwed in that department, but then to have a sequal based off of the warden you killed as well?

DG said in the recent podcast there would be about the same amount of companion dialogue as DAO.

It's because of the Ultimate Sacrifice that the Warden couldn't logically be a main character in this or a future game. With a 1 in 3 chance that your Warden dies (US, Alistair/Loghain, Dark Ritual) it wouldn't have made sense for the Warden to be the main character of DA2 since a percentage of the population (myself included) have dead Wardens.pizoxuat wrote...
Since the Ultimate Sacrifice is my favorite ending to DAO and the Warden I will be importing is dead, I'd be disappointed if DA2 was about the Warden.

I want to see BioWare's telemetry on this, actually. If Ultimate Sacrifice is sufficiently unpopular, they could decide to use the Warden for a future title and allow those who picked US to use the Orlesian Warden and set the dead Warden's choices with the mother of all exposition conversations (think the one between Exile and Atton on Peragus, writ large).
EDIT: Hell, if that's what the writers think will best serve the story, the telemetry data might not even matter.

That's why I haven't gotten Awakenings, starting an Orlesian Warden erases my choices from my Ultimate Sacrifice playthrough. I hope at some point someone from Bioware will say if you can import both a US Warden and a Orlesian Warden and how those two things will interact to create the background for DA2. If they don't, I'm going to assume that the Orlesian Warden overwrites your US Warden and not risk it.
Oh please, how many people play as dead shepard?
"I want my main character to remain dead. I hate character continuation."

Ah...nobody, MGS. Unlike Awakening, they're not even giving you the option to retcon Shepard back into existence after failing the suicide mission.
