 Hello,

It's been a while since I've played this game; I always prefered BG2 and Planescape Torment.

Anyway, is there any way to check an enemy's HP in BG1?

In BG2 if you held the TAB key while having the mouse cursor on the enemy, you'd get a description (ex: "Badly injured"). In BG1, it only displays the name of the monster.

Finally, is there a way to "grind" some XP in this game? A place where mobs respawn a lot and give you decent XP? I *KNOW* it's not necessary, I just want to do it for fun.

Thanks

Grindan area: Lighthouse area, flesh golem cave iirc.

As for checking status, why not use TuTu?

Once you are powerful enough to take on wyvern safely, travelling about between the cloakwood mines and cloakwood will cause you to be ambushed by them on a regular basis. (I think that time of day has something to do with whether you get wyvern or other monsterts). That rapidly boosts your exp, but is dangerous for a weak party. Be ready to run if necessary and have some cure poison potions ready just in case.

Forgot to mention that you should keep resting here in order for them to spawn. Go back outside and rest when things get messy (Which they should; they aren't to be trifled wi-... I hate you, now I want trifle.) and you should skyrocket in experience. Forgot whether or not they were immune to magic, but I seem to remember that all I could really do was send in my melee on them.

Thanks for your suggestions. I haven't tried BG2Tutu, I know it's a full convert of BG to the BG2 engine, but I always prefer playing the "original" versions of games. I rarely install mods, but I installed the widescreen mod and the fix pack for BG1 though.

I guess they didn't want to display the HP, it was by design...

I'm only a few hours into the game so I can't reach any of the areas you are talking about, but soon will. :)

Thanks again
