I'm a seasoned DA veteran with alot of hours clocked on the game and multiple playthroughs with all classes, that said however i have just started a human warrior again and i've never bothered with helmets before but i feel like a change this time through so i was just wondering what the best helmet in the game is and where and how you aquire it, also if it looks good with the warden commander armour thats a bonus, any help is appriciated folks :).

Most likely the Helm of Honnleath.

You get this from the village of Honnleath (Stone Prisoner DLC). What a surprise :)

Bergen's honor is nice, if you have the STR for it.

I like the Helm of Honnleath also. I find those winged helmets look nice. I like it's bonus features, but it doesn't follow my PC to Awakenings. I also like the Grey Warden Griffon helmet from Riordans stash. Again, nice wings and it's shiny! Both go good with my PC warriors warden commanders armor I find.

It did for me. I'm using it right now in Awakening. All of the items from the Stone Prisoner work in Awakening for me. Harvest Festival Ring, Helm of Honnleath and Cadash Stompers.

I think the nice thing about Helm of Honnleath is that it doesn't cover up the whole face. Everybody looks the same in those completely closed helmets.

Executioner's helm near end game is great for many characters, I believe (one found on General in Market District).

Thanks for the catch; was at work when I posted and cannot access the Wiki.

However, I do recommend the Executioners helm if you are having problems with Stamina, esp in the lower lvls. And it looks a little better than the Thane helmet, which makes me look like an angry ram... so I give it to Alistair or Sten.

Re: Thane Helmet

LOL Yeah, I think it looks silly.  That's why I replace it right away with the Helm of Honnleath and give it to Alistair.

I stopped wearing helmets when I realised they don't help me so much and the fact they ALL look ridiculous. Helm of Honnleath being the king of all ridiculous helmets.

With the Warden Commander's Armor the Helm of Honleath is hands down the best looking AND it is the best helm in Origins.

For Awakening the Warden Commander Armor does not carry over.

Executioners Helm is great for stamina, but it looks like your head got pinched. "I'm pinching your face! Pinch pinch!"

If all else fails I like the simple "helmet" in dragonbone from the Blacksmith at Warden's Keep.

Oh - and the Rock Knocker Helm looks great with Wade's Dragonbone Plate. It is identical to Corruption in appearance, but you can buy it in Denerim (Gorim), Orzammar (Janar), or win it by defeating the Broodmother in Origins.
