I accidentally changed the "rendering time" setting in the Toolset options to a rather large number and now the toolset crashes upon startup.

I have tried several times to reinstall but it still doesn't work.
It fails completely when the loading bar reaches "starting rendering".

Also, i've tried to remove all registry indexes with Obsidian, NWN or neverwinter as well as deleting all related files.

Nothing works so far, does anyone have any advice or ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Look into:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\<Your user name>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\NWN2 Toolset

Then it should be into GraphicsPreferences.xml, no need to delete it you can edit it with a text editor.

I wasn't aware Dunce's wore caps, learned another thing there ;)

In all honesty it was quite a foollish thing to mess with, especially given hindsight.

Thanks again for the swift reply! I woudn't have figured out this solution on my own.

Man you gotta watch more old time cartoons~!  Then again, I am probably older than most on these forums.  I missed it, my self, but there was a time not so long ago when public humiliation in the classroom had teachers doing things like making a kid sit in the corner with a piece of paper stapled or taped together into a tall cone with the word "Dunce" on it.  It was to serve as an "object lesson" to the pupil (and hopefully the rest of the class) to pay attention in class, study and do your homework.

Not one of the more enlightened ideas in educational discipline.  It's referenced in old cartoons as a way to indicate when someone does something dumb or dunce-like. (You'd see a little thought bubble of the character finding out they've goofed up badly, wearing a dunce cap.)

Just a little trivial note for next time.  And don't feel bad.  Everybody has those moments.  It's nice to know we can all come here and shamlessly get assistance instead of being put in the corner and be humiliated instead.

best regards,

Isn't the idea of a dunce someone incapable of learning and therefore being shamed for not learning as opposed to asking for help and learning something? Posted Image

I do remember some old cartoons with funny hats, didn't know they called those "dunce hat's", they do sort of remind me of Gandalf. Posted Image

Ah, the good 'ole days of public humiliation and capital punishment...where is my wooden ruler anyway? There are some knuckles that need some rapping...

Not Capital Punishment, Mokah, that's a bit extreme. Corporeal Punishment. Other than that, yeah.

BartjeD, yes a dunce or dolt is also synonomous for idiot, but in school it was used as a form of humiliation to get that kid (and the others in the class for fear of them being made an example of at some other time) to pay attention and study.

The whole dunce cap comment was supposed to be funny hah hah, but it obviously failed.

As Steve Martin would say, "Comedy is not pretty."
