And Bioware? Don’t make me laugh. They’ve spent more money making the Old Republic than James Cameron spent on Avatar. **** you not. More than $ 300 million! Can you believe that?

And you know what they’re most proud of? This is the kicker. They are most proud of the sound. No seriously. Something like a 20Gig installation, and most of it is voiceover work. That’s the best they have. The rest of the game is a joke. EA knows it and so does George Lucas, they’re panicking , and so most of Mythic has already been cannibalized to work in Austin on it because they can’t keep pushing back launch.

Old Republic will be one of the greatest failures in the history of MMOs from EA. Probably at the level of the Sims Online. We all know it too ……

All I can say is... ouch! Even if this guy is just angry because he's about to be layed off, these are some pretty heated comments.

Well i think we can't really jugde a unfinshed projected until it is indeed finished, however $300M is alot of money, good job its gonna be a monthly sub and even then its gonna have to do increadibly well just to break even, however i guess we'll all find out when... if the game ever comes out.

300M? Uh-huh, is the game gonna cost 700 USD per month?

I for one think that TOR looks quite promising, yed it might not make a profit for a long time but that doesn't mean its not a good game. I admit that the only thing i'm not too keen on is the art style, i would of prefered something like updated KOTOR graphics instead of what looks like a 10 year old kiddie style.

You really shouldn't trust what some low level Mythic employ, who, may or may not, know what's happening in WAR, about a price tag on TOR. The fact is the most costly game ever made was 100 mil and that number cuts well below half that by the 10th most costly. I don't foresee any of the parties involved having the will to put out so much for it.

And if there's any panicking going on, it's on the Lucas Arts side of things because of new polices from their new head, which, as I understand, wont be effecting TOR.

I don't believe/trust anonymous rants. How does he/she know for sure the budget is sitting at 300 million? Sorry but this article is too vague without solid evidence/proof.

I don't put a lot of stock in what a disgruntled (supposed) employee is ranting about. Time will tell. Predictions are like... well, you know.

I don't think we need to make a big deal over this. If he was higher up on EA's pay roll it might be noteworthy. This guy is the equivalent of a whiny 12 year old who got underwear for Christmas in stead of that train set.

If he actually represented the company and was a actual spokes person then it might be an issue. That fact that he likes Avatar and James Cameron is fact enough to simply dismiss his claims.

An anonymous rant from an unconfirmed source blaming everybody else for a failure... ya typical internet ranting.

No, I officially hate Avatar and James Cameron.  Avatar was a ***** movie that was unoriginal and filled to the brim with anti-military and capitalist bull crap with a hippie agenda.  And James Cameron has a enormous ego, infact it is so big that the UN declared it it's own sovereign nation in 2009.

But my dislike of James and Avatar is more of a forum joke.  There I was being sarcastic even though I don't like both Avatar and James.  But I have no problem with others enjoying the movie.  Unless they are fanatics, just look at the Avatar fan site to see these fanatics I mention.

Im sure he would prefer to be insta-fired. And if he is a low level artist or programmer then it is a standpoint that we should know about. If the management did **** up then we certainly wouldn't be hearing about it from management right?

I like Avatar for the visuals and the world he craeted, but I agree that the story is rather unorigional.

Ooohh...we're cool then, as I'm not a fanatic.
Just liked the movie, as well as Aliens and Terminator. I know JC has a big ego problem, and Avatar wasn't exactly "ground-breaking" (in terms of plot, at least). But there are far more worse filmmakers and movies out there, and that cannot be denied.

Also...I don't feel any particular love for the military, as I almost lost a foot because of them.
But that's another story, not belonging to this thread or forum. Enough derailment.

He could very well know about the inner workings of Mythic, but there is about zero reason to think he knows anything about what is happening in TOR.
