Im sure he would prefer to be insta-fired. And if he is a low level artist or programmer then it is a standpoint that we should know about. If the management did **** up then we certainly wouldn't be hearing about it from management right?

Pretty much that. It's a low level nobody losing his job without the testiular fortitude to name himself (because no one would recognize it) but name every other person that is horrible and does a terrible job and how it is their fault and he was perfect.

I will be the first to tell you us (because I am there) at the bottom of the food chain to be cut but there is a difference between throwing a tantrum and redirecting that energy into finding a better place to go. It just makes you look like (and sorry if this offends someone) a snot nosed brat right out of college thinking they are king **** on the mountain.

True:huh:, but I wasnt talking about TOR...

But the thread is!

That weird. The comments section of the blog was also filled with everyone saying "YOU BASTERD!!! NO ONE TALKS BAD ABOUT TOR! NOBODY!"
But nobody seemed to really give a **** about what he said about WAR, kinda says something.

Yeah, that no one gives a crap about WAR. That's not exactly headline news.

Most likely because he isn't really saying anything shocking about WAR. The game had potential and still does really. But potential only gets you as far as you throw it, and Mythic seems like they can't be bothered.

Alright. Now what are we gonna talk about? The guy said obvious things then he mouth sharted something about TOR that wasnt true. Could we talk about this.

"This isn't specifically Warhammer related, so this gets closed.

If you wish to discuss this, please use the Off Topic forum.

That was Chris Priestly. Why would he say such a thing to the Warhammer general discusion forum?

If it was getting off topic or something he will close it. I had know Idea anyone from the Bioware camp even bothered going into the WAR forums. But I haven't really been over there since they took away ability to post there!

That fact that he likes Avatar and James Cameron is fact enough to simply dismiss his claims.

He mentions Avatar in his blog, but I didn't in any way get a feeling one way or another on his feelings towards it. Mentioning something in a comparison certainly doesn't indicate you like that thing.

Im sure if they had a "We want to distance these comments from Bioware/Mythic Board" then he would have made everybody go there...

I bet his life long dream was to be one of those guys who would stand in the middle of the road moving traffic long. You know before they had lights and **** for it. This is most likely how he compensates.

If you found out you were getting fired in a couple of weeks would you be blogging about the successful future of your former employer's projects?

I think the next part -

http://ealouse.wordp...another-things/

- where he writes about comments he received adds a bit more truth to what he's saying.

Of course you have to take everything with a grain of salt, especially considering his position - he's pretty up-front about it, calling himself a louse even.

Does that make it true and accurate? No. Doesn't make it false.

I've not worked in game design (sadly) but I've worked MANY other fields, and exactly the kind of work environment being described should be familiar to most workers in most jobs.

How much is true or false, it's a fascinating read - and I personally sense at least some honest truth mixed in there.

They may be selective truths...

Hell no! You wouldn't be a very good narcissist if you did something like that! And if you can't have a narcissist attitude about stuff, then... then what do you have!? Reasonableness?! What the hell good is that!?

Eh...

Dear.

Oh, dear.

To be perfectly honest, TOR always looked like crud to me, but I didn't think...

Oh, jeez. No idea what the heck to say. No idea.

Honestly, I still have hopes for TOR. I'm more interested in the inside gossip of the company than in bashing any particular game.

I thought Sims Online would be the biggest thing ever, too... how that got screwed up who knows.
