Title says it all. How many ever times I talk to her, she never asks to help.

If Shepard flirts with her at every possible opportunity. Shepard will eventually* be able to ask her out for dinner. Subsequently Kelly will offer to feed the fish.

*My best guess is after the derelict Collector vessel & recruiting Samara

Will asking her out for dinner spoil the other romances?

I absolutely dislike how you have to flirt with Kelly in order to get her to feed the fish. She's your secretary after all; you're supposed to ask her to do these things without having to get too close to her.

Also, asking her for dinner will not compromise your current relationship.

If you flirt with her, eventually you can invite her to your cabin for dinner. After that she will mention that she saw the fish and ask if you want her to feed them.

Talk to her after every recruitment mission always choose the flirty option.

Yup, you need to go with the flirty option every time you see one. Eventually she'll be "more comfortable" with you, at which point you have the option to ask her for dinner and subsequently to feed the fish.

Thanks. I thought that asking her for dinner might remove the LI.

I felt so retarded knowingly flirting around with her with the ulterior motive of automatic fish feeding and I dropped it. I'll just feed my own fish from now on. Come to think of it, shouldn't gibbed have a variable for it...

I always feed the fish on my own (except for my first playthrough, when I let Kelly do it, but then the fish died somehow). It gets tedious going back to the cabin after every mission just to press a button, but it feels rewarding at the end.

I'm surprised, with the technology to jump vast distances in seconds and creating proper A.Is, they could not devise an automatic timer to feed the fish. We have this very technology today!

But yeah, I dont buy the fish until I get Kelly all happy. That way if I screw up with her I wont have to flush a few thousand credits worth of fish out the airlock.

Oh yeah, why cant we have jellyfish, or squid, or lobsters/crabs, sharks (small ones) or starfish? Maybe a little coral dressing, the always classic treasure chest and sunken boat, maybe a little castle and some seaweed?

It would have been extremely handy if there was something we could buy that feeds the fish automatically.

The offer to feed your fish comes only after you've invited her up to your cabin for "dinner". And the dialogue to invite her up happens only after you've recruited Samara.

:pinched: and I though with all the advance technology, I can have the stupid fish tank pump food automatically. Most frustrating! In all my play through... my fishes never survive :crying:

*Jacob comes up to your cabin*

"Hey Shepard how about we spill some drinks at the..."

*He finds Shepard dead at his/her desk, with a note about how he/she just couldn't handle the deaths of the fish.*

You don't have to flirt with Kelly to get the dinner. You just need to be friendly with her. You can be flirty or just friendly with her, and both lead to having dinner, which leads to her offering to feed your fish. The main choice is when she mentions she trusts you. If you say you'd catch her, you start the friendly path. If you say you'd embrace her, it starts the flirty path. She even double checks with you if you meant to be flirty the next time you speak to her. At that point you can switch back to the friendly path with her. Either way leads to dinner, as long as you continue to speak with her.

If you get professional with her, judge her too much, or don't speak with her enough, then she isn't comfortable suggesting that you have dinner together, and definately wouldn't suggest entering your cabin to feed your fish when you aren't there.

BTW, when she asks to feed your fish, your fish might already be dead, and she can't ressurect dead fish ;)

Yeah, I found that out recently, Dusty, but I notice Kasumi still calls it a "date" when she comments on it. I guess it's possible a date can be platonic...

This post sums everything up nicely.

I find it kind of strange that after dinner you still get 5 Paragon points and 5 Renegade points...something naughty must have happened up there .

I actually had my fish survive the Suicide Mission, I went there immediately after the crew was abducted...Legion remains inactive in the AI Core room for now. I'm going to start it up when I'm ready to do the Overlord mission.

Of Kasumi is just assuming something that didn't actually happen on said "date".

The one regret I have with getting her to feed the fish, is with one of my Sheps, whom I've kept loyal to an ME1 LI, is the constant 'stalking' emails I keep getting from her. Image IPBImage IPB

I experienced this when playing a DLC and doing a sidequest after  the suicide mission.

Actually this was addressed in another thread.

Actions which the developers perceive as neutral are rewarded with both paragon and renegade points. They're participation points, basically. They don't tip the balance of your meters in any one way, but they give a general boost.

I said the exact same thing in another thread a while back :D

Sergeant "I Wash My Hands" Gardner used to be in charge of my fishes. But then the Collectors got him and I switched to rations.
