Okay, so I have completed the mage tower, and cleansed it of the sloth demon,
and what's his face at the top of the tower.  Yet, when I try to release Connors
sole in Redcliffe Castle, I only have the two choices to either kill him, or
sacrafice his mother.  Anyone have any idea how I use the other  choice?  I have
the mage that joins you in the tower in my party, yet I cannot seem to get this
to work.  Any help would be nice.  FYI, PC version if it matters.

Talk to First Enchanter Irving in the Tower. You should get a dialogue options about Connor.

Did you help the templars or the mages?

If you helped the templars purge the circle, you can't help connor.

There's a choice?  I thoguht regardless you were helping the mages.  Does it matter with my dialogue and choosing to save the innocent?  Or do I have to speak to the mages in the next room and choose something there?

If First Enchanter Irving is not currently on the first floor near the main entrance, it sounds as though you helped the templars whether you meant to or not. My toon had a long argument with the templar cullen about not killing all of the mages in the tower. I'm not sure if the game locks you into helping the templars if you inadvertently agreed with him prior to fighting Uldred.

I'm not sure either, but that's one of two 'lock out' points there. The second is failing to use the Litany in the Uldred fight. Unless you use it, Irving dies, and the Templars go Purgy.
