So the DLC items are exclusive to this collector's edition, what about the DLC character, missions, and soundtrack? Can those be purchased separately without the collector's edition?

I'm sure at some point some of the items will be available for purchase. I doubt the bonus items will be available for purchase separately, but the bonus character, and even the soundtrack will probably be available in the future.

I'm still holding out for a Steam pre-order. Though I will buy a physical copy if necessary.

As I have said, we are updating our page with retailers as we get confirmation from the retailers that their pre-order page is ready. Just because you do not see your favorite store or country listed does not mean it is excluded. It just means we haven't updated the page yet. Check with yur local preferred retailer or online vendor to be sure.

Oh and:

THIS IS THE COLLECTOR's EDITION

After January 11, 2011 people will still be able to buy Dragon Age 2, but it will be a standard copy without all the cool free stuff included in the Signature Edition.

So get to ordering. :)

I don't buy non-digital editions these days.  I'm happy to give you my money, this instant in fact, if you get it on Steam.  (Or even some of their rivals, but for various reasons, I prefer Steam.)

it is available on D2D right now.  Don't know why it wouldn't show up on Steam soon.

Sorry to go on about this, but the Xbox 360 version, is it coming down under or not. Its available in Europe and North America, what about Australia. If we can get Oprah, why not some DLC. You can send it with her.

Mr. Priestly if you were a woman and not likely to slap me with some sort of restraining order, I'd kiss you....

But since neither of those things is true you'll just have to settle with an awkward thank you.

so... ermm... thank you. :)

Still waiting on a list of what widgets come from which retailers offering pre-orders.

If ME2 was any indication, and we have every reason to assume it was... then there will be a wide variety of pre-order "bonuses" depending on where you pre-order from.

It's irritating to pre-order a game *cough Fallout: NV* and realize that a different retailer is offering a better, sometimes WAY cooler set of gear for pre-orders.

No pre-orders from me until I get that list.

According to the FAQ on the link Priestly posted at the start. Australia is one of the countrys that should get it. here is the question and answer from the FAQ.

  • Will the BioWare Signature Edition be available in Europe and other regions?
Yes! In Europe, the BioWare Signature Edition will be available in the following territories
  • UK
  • France
  • Russia
  • Italy
  • Germany
  • Poland
  • Spain
  • Hungary
  • Slovakia
  • Czech Republic
  • South Africa
  • Sweden
  • Denmark
  • Norway
  • Finland
  • New Zealand
  • Australia

For those who were asking if the pre order they had already placed will get upgraded. According to my local gamestop, they don't have to do anything to upgrade you. The upgrade is  done automaticly by the system they use, So gamestop at least should have already changed your pre order to the Signature edition.
But call and check to be sure, which is a good idea no matter where your ordering from.

I have to say that I am disappointed by this "collector's edition". I had expected it to come with some additional physical content like a cloth map, a physical soundtrack-CD and maybe something related to the game like a small figurine of a dragon or Hawke...

But I think it fits the game... taking away key elements from Dragon Age 1 like the complex character creation seems to be in line with taking away the physical content from a collector's edition...

Game.co.uk has the Signature Edition for £10 more than the standard, haha, how many other retailers will try and pull that? Glad we're getting it here in Australia, don't have to import it now. Good thing I've pre-ordered the game already. Looking forward to it.

LOL.  That is hilarious

+1 to greed.  I was wondering how long it would take someone to try and screw over customers.  Of course I could be jumping the gun here a little.  It could actually be an honest mistake...

still no answer form bioware on thier standing on this action by UKs retailers?

Unfortunately I don't think BioWare/EA has much control what the retailers do with the Signature Editions (although I don't know for sure)

Either way I'm just hopeing that Play.com will be added to the list of UK retailers that have it, if not then I'll just pre-order it from ShopTo.net whos prices currently stand at £27.85 for PC and £38.85 for PS3/360 (I've just not pre-ordered from them before, so I don't know how good they are Posted Image)

Agreed.

I'm waiting for real reviews before buying/pre-ordering the game though I expect EA are sneaky enough to ensure reviews of the finished game come out after the 11th of January :(

There have already been previews in many magazines, from what they say the game has taken a different turn but it still very good.

Any idea when amazon.co.uk will start selling the signature edition? I'd rather not pay the extra cash from game when I could get it the same price as the normal edition at amazon

Yes, I've read a fair few. A preview of a select portion of a game isn't the same as a review of the full game. So until then, I'll maintain a neutral attitude towards the game.

It does strike as greedy, but remember they haven't increased the price of the SE, just reduced the price of the normal one.

Hmm.  I still don't like the situation.  But I'll take your word on it, because well, I'm a trusting person.

But if my local EB games try's that line on me.  There will be words had.

Serious words.

Hopefully soon...

Other UK retailers already have it listed so I'm hoping there's just a delay with the UK Amazon, and not that it's not getting the signature edition at all :s

What the hell?
I have to pay $75 PC/$95 PS3 (German amazon) to get some lousy DLC codes, and that's it? No extras, no map, no soundtrack cd or anything physical?
And pre-orders are closed 2 months before release so i don't even know the game is worth it.
Looks like i will wait for the ulitmate edition this time.

Yes, but at £5 more than the standard edition, unlike our lucky N. American friends.
