It does seem to have been a bit of a fiasco.  Let's just hope it was a breakdown in communication and that it gets sorted out; sadly, it could leave Bioware with egg on their face even though it seems it's the retailers who are being opportunistic about it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the retailers do this on purpose. I've now ordered the normal version of the game form amazon and I will simply demand a SE-Version.

I've done likewise; I feel that in doing so, I may be setting myself up for an argument I don't really want, but it's the principle and all that.  Maybe I should take a screenshot of that FAQ page where it says about being automatically upgraded to the SE, just in case it goes away...

Any word on the digital version? Or it's already out? My country EA store doesn't show the digital signature version. (I'm from Brazil - but in this site we buy the European version).

I have a bunch of promo credit with amazon, so I wanted to get DA2 through them. You can demand an SE version, but tthey wont give it to you if they don't want to. Amazon is having some real problems latley with pre-order bonuses/Promos, I hope they get their crap together soon or I may stop buying from them.

By selling in the UK do anyone know if they are selling Dragon Age 2 SE in Republic of Ireland or will it be sold there at all.

I'm not sure how it is in other countries, but here in the UK, the Trading Standards office might have some choice words for them if one thing was advertised to get the orders and something less impressive was delivered.  It's a bit of a confused situation since it's one company doing the advertising and another the (mis)selling, but I think the retailers might still find themselves on thin ice if they don't upgrade the standard DA:II pre-orders to the Signature Edition.  The higher prices are probably just taking advantage of the uncertainty now surrounding the whole thing.

Seriously, WTF is going on with Amazon? I am waiting on pre-ordering because I don't want to pre-order there and find out suddenly they are not participating in the SE upgrade (even though the FAQ says they are).

I'm very disappointed with Amazon. I was waiting for any mention of SE to show up, and tonight read that it appears they won't be offering it. I'm not willing to bet that they'll give everyone the SE, I want it in writing! So I went ahead and took GameSpot up on their offer of free overnight shipping and pre-ordered from them. There's just no way I'm going to miss out on the SE.

OK, what the hell? Zavvi.com is charging 35,45 euros for normal edition, and 46,95 for Signature edition. What happaned with "with no additional costs"?

I think I see now what's going on. Gamestation  and Game offer the SE at recommended retail price and the regular edition at a discount (£ 5 / 10). Seems to be a supply and demand thing.<_<

I think Bioware should explain this to us clearly! This is a mess.....

Apparently most stores didn't understand BioWare's concept, which is a shame for the fans, as this was supposed to be free content. Some retailers are being fair though, such as Verkkokauppa.com in Finland - the Åland-based SE pre-order option for PC is 36.40€ (incl. shipping).

Yeah, I mean there is still a lot of time and I will write amazon a mail in December, I guess.

I've just asked Amazon UK what's the deal. They normally respond quickly, so at least I should find out one way or the other before long. I will attempt to make the case for the upgrade if they say "no", though it shouldn't really have to involve anything more than them reading Bioware's own statement. Still, I'm getting ahead of myself.

yeah, because they should charge more for the signature edition, currently they're selling it too cheap  <_<
8,09 euro doesn't exactly equal 20 dollar of additional content

I hope Chris Priestly will later have some clarifying words, though it's what time in Canada right now?
let's wait till he gets up before 'demanding' replies...

happy monday morning, Chris!

In January 8 Euro will rather be something around 200 USD, with the US economy sitting on its ass and not moving a bit.

Amazon.co.uk has listed the signature edition for £47.54. The funny thing is they have the RRP for it listed as £54.99. I hope this is cleared up soon. I would like to pre-order it but don't want to get screwed over.

I did it already, and they said that the information is internal and confidential, they will not discuss this with me.

Considering Bioware have already stated publicly what's supposed to be the deal, that sounds a bit suspect, especially refusing to discuss it with you.  Do they actually want people's business or not...?
