Thanks.  Strange how it's not coming up in their searches.  I see the PC version also has a higher RRP at £39.99; in lieu of a reply, I'm not feeling very positive about this.  If I don't get a confirmation that I'll get upgraded I'll probably just cancel: I know it's only £5, but considering it's the upgrade that inspired me to order something I was otherwise rather ambivalent about, I'm not really feeling all that inspired right now.

Amazon.co.uk has listed the signature edition for £47.54. The funny thing is they have the RRP for it listed as £54.99. I hope this is cleared up soon. I would like to pre-order it but don't want to get screwed over.

Odd, Game and Gamestation state an RRP of £34.99. Shouldn't every UK retailer have the same RRP?

Wikipedia claims...
The [...] recommended retail price (RRP) of a product is the price which the manufacturer recommends that the retailer sell the product. The intention was to help to standardize prices among locations. While some stores always sell at, or below, the suggested retail price, others do so only when items are on sale or closeout.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suggested_retail_price

EDIT:
Oh, you're not speaking of PC price, though there still is a £5 difference. They're all fooking with us!!!

I'd like to know if there will be different versions of this "collector's edition" as it was the case with the CE of DA:O. Steelbook versus wooden box...

When I asked Game about the price difference for the SE this was their response:

Thank you for your email.

At present, the details on our website reflect the most recent news we would have received from the publisher. If there is any change, our website will be amended to reflect this.

If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact us.

No help at all really.

for the moment I pre-ordered with amazon.co.uk

it's still cheaper (including shipping etc. but let's hope the GBP to Euro curse doesn't change much to my disadvantage here...) than ordering the german version off of amazon.de

and I don't have to worry anymore if the 'german' version will be multi-lingual...

For the UK folks here... have you considered ShopTo.Net? It's a cheap option with free UK delivery. International delivery is £2.50. Launch day delivery.

There's no mention of DA2 on Amazon.ca or Gamestop.ca... are we going to see the SE in Canada? I emailed Amazon Canada and they said they don't know anything about it, or DA2 in general. The regular edition is up on Video Games Plus though, I wonder if they'll get the upgrade? I'd ask them but I bug them about stuff way too much.

Oh, if there's been some mention of what's going on in Canada, I apologize. I'm kinda in a rush and I haven't read through the thread. Just wanna jump on the preorder wagon asap.

yep. :)
shopto has the best deal so far.
It would get better for me if Base.com included the Signature Edition beacuse I would get VAT deduction since I'm not from the UK.

Can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to pay a UK retailer if my only option is a German debit card without a security code? I never see a mention of wire/credit transfer wich every single German/Austrian online shop I've ever bought s.th. from accepts. I neither have a credit card nor PayPal (or anything similar).

I suspect you're unlikely to see anything that's going to help with your particular situation: with the problem of online fraud, I doubt anybody's going to be in a hurry to relax their security measures, I'm afraid.  As far as wire transfers are concerned, they're less commonplace in the UK than elsewhere since the banks can make them unpleasantly cumbersome.

If you can't get a debit card with the CVV code your best option is to ask someone who does have one to order it on your behalf, I suspect.  However, if a credit card is an option for you it might not be such a bad idea since you normally get better protection from fraudulent transactions (and it does happen, as I've found to my cost - though not literally, I'm pleased to say).  Conversely, I wouldn't touch Paypal with a barge pole.

You can try using a prepaid method like Cash4web or something similar. They work like a credit card and are usually well accepted. You can get them in many Trafiken/Kiosks (I think its newsagent in english).
Basically you go there and by a bon similar to the ones you get for prepaid mobil phones, only that you can purchase stuff on the internet.

Thanks, vometia and Wittand25, for your responses. I guess that means I'll have to "borrow" someone elses credit card then.

I'm italian and I've just bought the signature edition on multyplayer.com!

I really hope that you will not force localization on the players! Remember: a lot of your foreign fans wants to play your game in the original language!

PS: An advise to the other italian folks outh there: do not buy it from gamestop for PC. It's really expensive if you compare it with the competition (15 € more or less).

Bleargh. I guess my solution seems to be pre-ordering it at a physical store. I'm currently in Canada but only have a US credit card and most places tell me to ****** off if I want to ship it to where I am at.

Indeed!  I went to pre-order today but changed my mind when I saw the price difference.  I'll wait for further developments...

The price difference isn't a problem from the point of view of this being the only "collector's edition" that we're going to get.  But the SE is being billed as a reward for prebooking early, not for paying more.  It is supposed to be an automatic upgrade at no further cost.

Hope Portugal gets it soon!

I already got crewed over when my preordered Mass Effect 2 didnt come with anything. And it was preordered in a portuguese gamestop.

Why couldn't I have been born in the UK? xD
