There are so many stores around that not all of them are going to make the official list right away (or in more obscure cases, at all). That doesn't mean they don't sell the Signature Edition.Majin Paul wrote...
So is Play.com(UK) one of participating retailers? the link on the front page doesn't seem to be showing stores that people on here are mentioning.
And yes, Play is participating, that is confirmed by them. Signature Editions (all platforms) at Play.com.

That's false advertising on the retailers' part, not BioWare's. They can't control individual companies.TM13h wrote...
Advertising the SE with 20 $ worth of bonus content and then making it more expansive than the standard edition is false advertising, plain and simple.

I am from Europe and i thought this promotion upgrade works here too, but according to Game.co.uk it does not.
My question to Game support:Hello,
i have recently made a preorder of Dragon Age 2 game for PC, the order number is ***********.
Today i read on the Dragon Age website that anyone who preorders Dragon Age 2 game before January 11 will get an automatic upgrade to the "signature edition" with no additional cost.
You can see the info i read here:
http://dragonage.bio...da2/info/order/
I will quote one specific part:
"If I already Pre-ordered Dragon Age 2, will I be upgraded to the BioWare Signature Edition?
YES! Anyone who has previously pre-ordered with the retailers listed below should be included in this offer, but ultimately this is up to the retailers, so please check with them directly."
Could you tell me if my preorder will be upgraded as it says on the info page?
Thank you in advance.
Daniel
Their reply:Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your email.
I apologise for the delay in response to your emails.
Having looked in to your enquiry, I'm afraid the offer you have referred to would be available from BioWare to North America customers at this time only. I appreciate their site may seem misleading however unfortunately this isn't something UK retailers have been able to participate in.
I apologise for any disappointment, however if we are able to help you with anything else please do let us know.
Regards,
Lloyd W
I guess we at Europe fail at this one... Or is something not clear enough on the Game - Bioware relation?
Because Game is clearly listed as taking part in this.
Looks like I'll be cancelling my game pre-order because it seems to me that game are at it...
I'll wait a couple of days and if nothing changes I'll switch to play.

I did not blame anybody specifically as I do not know whether it is EA or the retailers or BioWare itself behind this false advertising. There is some responsibility on EA/BioWare's site, however, as they advertise the SE here, too, and with the 20 $ content bonus. If they realize that retailers are trying to milk more money out of their customers, EAWare should react or pull the advertisements. They promise something that their contractors, the retailers, do not deliver. So EAWare are in it.

The retailers don't set the RRP though, and that's where the discrepancy has come in. The RRP would have been set by EA, at least as I understand it.Archmage Silvery wrote...

Another point: If you read between the lines only participating retailers have that upgrade offer (Play.com is supposed to be a participating retailer and it currently only has the Signature Edition for pre-order), so other retailers may have the Signature Edition but they could charge more because they aren't participating in the offer.
EDIT: Never mind, I found that list.

I think this is an important point that needs to be clarified as we should know what are the game language options when we will install it on the D day
only when I will have those informations I will choose the retailer regarding the price : here in France the game prices are always higher than in UK, specially if some retailers increase their own price cause they're considering the signature edition as collector edition, even if it's free from BioWare intention. Bandulu bizness
Don't forget that not all the fanbase will play with an english version

Mr. Priestly already adressed ther issue of the higher price for the SE from various retailers here. We can expect that the prices will be adjusted in the future.
Ah...that I wasn't aware of. Good to know. Still...only Play has managed to avoid any real confusion on the issue by only having the Signature Edition for pre-order. Will be waiting for the other sites to play catch up on the official line then.

It's not showing up on the EB/Gamestop.ca site anywhere (yet, fingers crossed). Or will I have to pay the cross-border shipping (or worse yet...crowbar in a family visit to Buffalo to pick it up day one)? Argh...

ShopTo.net also has great prices: £27.85 or €34.50 for the PC Signature Edition and £38.85 or €47.95 for 360 and PS3 Signature Edition. They also charge £2.5 or €2.8 for shipping. But since i haven't heard of them before i am gonna trust zavvi.com.
ShopTo.net has also done something that none of the other major retailers that i have searched done. They have only displayed the Signature Edition on their page. Since, as Bioware announced, preordering the Standard Edition until JAnuary 11th means that you automatically upgrade to the Signature Edition, they decided not to confuse (or rip off) their customers, by displaying both editions. Every other retailer that i have searched (play.com, game.co.uk, amazon.co.uk, zavvi.com etc) have displayed both editions and most of them, by playing with the RRP, "overpriced" the Signature Edition. That's good customer care on my book.

There has not yet been announcement for the Australian market for a Signature edition however we are confident one will be announced soon.
Your order is for the standard edition and if you would like to upgrade your order we would suggest speaking to your pick-up store and organising with them for this to occur.
Thanks again for your enquiry; we hope to see you back online again soon.
Regards"
EB for Australia response. Guess I will email them again in a couple of weeks or something.

* No, I am not claiming anyone here is a lying scumbag. Clearly the fault is with the retailers, not anyone here.

Pre-order Dead Space 2 to get a free download of Dead Space Ignition. Pre-order Dragon Age II to be upgraded to the Bioware Signature Edition for free!
http://www.gamestop....1910&affid=3002
So that is confirmed for anyone who has ordered DA 2 on there
Now I wish AU would follow suit...
