So people won't be able to buy the Collector's edition if they order after Jan 11th? Only the Standard Edition will be available to consumers from Jan 11th to March?
That is correct.Sharuko wrote...
Edit: Now that I read it closely it seems like people that order before Jan 11th get the Collector's/Signature edition for cheaper than people who order the Collector's/Signature after Jan 11th.
That's not supposed to be happening. The Signature Edition is supposed to be available only to people who pre-order on or before January 11th, 2011. Anyone who pre-orders on Jan. 12th or later will only get the standard version. Regardless, both versions are supposed to be the same price (as this is supposed to be a free upgrade).
Thanks for your response. However, I have a hard time believing that BioWare will not offer some sort of Collector's Edition after Jan 11th.

And while I think we'll almost certainly see some sort of CE version after the deadline (any game with any sort of hypde has one these days), I suspect that it'll mostly, if not entirely the same. How much more could they really add that would be worth the extra money? Right now, I figure that even if a CE version has more stuff, I'll probably get what I want out of thiss special edition.

Not true. i do have a debit card (with the Maestro logo), but when I select Maestro from the options it asks for number I don't have. It asks for a card number that isn't on my card.
If you have a bank account in the same country that you buy from its no problem (in the Netherlands whe have Ideal for paying online with debit cards. Thats a special system that lets you use your own bank to pay online), but internationaly you will still need a credit card
Your debit card needs to be an accepted card obviously, which most cards will be. And it might not be true for your particular card, but it "is" true in general. My card is not a credit card, it's debit...I use it for all local and international purchases, upfront and online for all sorts of things, be it DLC, MMO subscriptions or buying games themselves.
It is true, just the card needs to be an accepted bank.

Will we know about the possible toolset update / new toolset before Jan. 11 (or whenever the Sig. Edition offer ends)? That's what is stopping me from preordering at the moment. I despise in-game character creators now that I've worked with the Toolset. I shouldn't have to fight the CC to create a good-looking character, and I don't want to have to sit there for hours tweaking every little thing; with the toolset, I can create a great base for a character inside of 20 minutes, with maybe another 10 to 25 min of in-game tweaking as I play. To achieve something like that in the CC would probably take me a couple hours.
I do want the soundtrack, and I could be interested about the extra character. Bonus items, sure why not, since they're included. But if I'm stuck with a CC, then I'll pass.
Sincerely, YH

I'm not sure there will be much of a character creator in DA-II at all. This time you play as Hawke, a pre-created character, either male or female; mage, warrior, or rogue; with full voice over. So I don't think you'll really have a problem either way.
True, but I imagine it will be similar to Mass Effect - you're the same damn chick or dude all the time, but your appearance can vary wildly.

I just noticed that the Amazon.com price of the PC version went up to $59.99, matching the XBOX and PS3 prices. Is this common, or is there any chance that this will go back down to $49.99?
Yeap it was 49 yesterday and now it is 59. Amazon if funky like that sometimes, I will wait till it goes back down to 49.

I dunno man it's priced $59.99 on PC on 3/4 of the official listed pre-order places, including EA's own webstore. The exception appears to be Best Buy. I'm not going to throw a hissy fit just yet but I'll be damned if I pay the same price for a PC game when there is no console licensing fee to be payed.
Yeah I'm whining a bit but funds are really, really tight right now and every $$$ counts when pennies are literally being pinched.

We have confirmed more retailers in more countries that will be carrying teh Signature Edition (or if you have already pre-ordered, will upgrade to the Signature Edition). Not all of these sites have their pages up yet, but we have confirmed they will have the Signature Edition.
As always, as more countires and retailers confirm and bring their websites online, we will continue to bring you retailers carrying the Signatire Edition.

That's a pretty hefty saving on the console versions! I will bear it in mind if I end up buying some copies of PS3/360 DA2 as gifts for non-PC-gaming friends. Thank you.Jenova65 wrote...
Amazon is always my first port of call tooAnd I agree with you about Awakenings too, btw!
I just checked Amazon and it is still £47.64 for the Signature Edition on 360 and PS3 so I'm going to stick with Gamestation as I have to get 4 copies of the game! That is just over a £30 saving from my point of view (£39.99 each on PS3/360)
