The preorder at gamestop is available now! I spoke with them on the phone at 9:30 am this morning. Like the add says, if you preorder DA 2 you will be upgraded to the Signature Edition automatically. That is why the preorder is only $5 down now. If this was a collectors edition preorder it would be $10 down.

If you look around on websites you can actually still buy the collector's edition of DAO new.

Ok. I'm curious. Some games (including DAO) are sold with extra content for new game purchases. What extra content does the signature game come with that is not 'new game' content on the regular game? I mean, just because the signature game comes with an extra character doesn't necessarily mean that the regular game doesn't come with that character as new game content...

I actually didn't get the collector's edition either lol. Just thought I'd point it out in case you didn't know. I don't think pre-ordering a collector's edition is worth it because you pre-order for £40, and it goes down to £20 in a matter of weeks here.

Can you explain how CE, NE and this one differ from each other?

Question: Is "Special Edition" just a different term for the Collector's Edition? If not, and if both versions are getting released, then I'll wait to see which one gets more stuff. If there's no Collector's Edition, then heck yes, I'm getting a preorder. I hope that the bonus character is as awesome as Shale was!

The CE hasn't been anounced yet so we don't know what's in it.

The NE will be cheaper than the other two if you don't preorder it but buy it a few days after release. It may contain the character and missions DLC for Dragon Age 2, but that's not confirmed.

This edition contains the previously mentioned DLC and 4 items and a soundtrack.

For Christ sake BIO****, you can't show us some official ****in gameplay vid yet you market a pre-order edition, with a bonus character and new missions... I really can't understand, it's not a month before release and you have additional content not ready for the game. These things are there and you are just programming tu cut them from the game. This is going too far, it will end like Mafia 2. And before you ask: I DON'T WANT TO PUT A PRE-ORDER FOR A GAME I'VE BARELY SEEN IN ACTION. You show us an unrefined game telling us to wait cause it's in early stage yet you already know there will be a new character and other missions for your "most loyal fans".

I'll wait till I see some game play footage, I enjoyed the Story of DA:O but the battle mechanics were rather poor.

I bought DA:O from Steam but I think I want DA2 as a hard copy. That being said, if I don't order the Steam version...will that affect any save game imports?

Although, if the Steam pre-order comes out soon I'll likely cave into that than to run down to Gamestop and reserve it that way. Assuming Steam will also be getting the pre-order bonuses.

Alright, I was waiting for something like this so you've got my preorder now. Hopefully everything goes through fine and I'll actually get this version.

And I suppose if there is some sort of Collector's Edition announced I'll be able to cancel and place a new pre-order.

If I understand the Bolded section correctly,this is a automatic free upgrade to the Collector's edition just for being a loyal fan that pre ordered. Does this mean that a Official Collector's version will be released that has the same content,but you will have to pay more because your not getting the 20 dollars in additional content free?
Or will a Collector's edition with either different additional content or the same and  maybe even more content as the Signature Edition be made availble?

I'm doing the exact same thing XD (so excited!)

I think if there does turn out to be a CE that has different bonuses, I'm going to end up getting both. I'm just that crazy (not to mention Bioware owns my soul).

I do agree with Shikashika to a point.

The game is not done yet, and months away from being released so why not include this bonus character and missions in the actual game. While I'm as hooked as everyone on DLC, it does leave me scratching my head ... Thinking is DLC a reward for us Loyal fans, or another way to get a few extra dollars from our wallets.

Regardless, I will be preordering DA 2 from Gamestop when I pick up mu copy of  SWFU 2.

It looks like it's for all platforms. I wouldn't imagine they'd only release a SE for one
