Hmm, interesting, Whacka. Looks like it's more expensive though. The SE is supposed to be priced the same as the normal edition when you pre-order it before January 11th.

Well, almost every retailer out there that offers the SE has a higher price.

But the price is ridiculous: 80 euro's, which is approx. 105 dollars!

Still, if it is the SE, it's better than nothing. Either this or nothing.

We have confirmed more retailers in more countries that will be carrying teh Signature Edition (or if you have already pre-ordered, will upgrade to the Signature Edition). Not all of these sites have their pages up yet, but we have confirmed they will have the Signature Edition.

As always, as more countires and retailers confirm and bring their websites online, we will continue to bring you retailers carrying the Signatire Edition. :)

SPAIN:
www.game.es
www.gamestop.es

After contacting both sites and obtaining a "we don´t know" answer. I preordered at game.co.uk.

So it looks like there is still no word on a Steam version of the Signature Edition. I only buy my PC games through Steam. Lack of a Steam version would be a big problem...

I wonder why Bioware doesn't respond to the 2 problems there are

1) The Signature editions is not available to everybody (and bringing extra's to the whole community is apparently very very difficult)

2) There is no Steam edition of the Signature Edition (and there is absolute no reason to not give it trough steam because every bonus is digatel)

My opinion of Bioware is getting really low at moments like this. Don't know (and really don't care) why they let a big part of there comunity down with about everything they do (it starts to look like that at least), but if they keep this up I need to look at other games to start like.

Bioware at least respond. We all hope you're working on these two things, but let us know if you aren't. If you would let us know anything it would be better then the silence that we have now

The forum for DA2 is at the bioware site. So if I have complains I'm going to complain to Bioware. If EA is the problem they need to kick someone's behind at EA

That they only give nice things to a very select part of there community. They should give the whole community the option to get the SE or don't do it at all

Not a "... very select part of their community" at all.  Those adversely affected at the moment, (and other options, including Steam, have not been excluded yet) are a tiny minority  of the overall customer base.  And since offering a special version to the overwhelming majority takes absolutely NOTHING away  from that minority, I fail to see why the rest of us should not benefit from the offer.

Sounds like, "If I can't have it, no one should!"  Which is what my five-year-old once said about a toy which another child got to first.

These forums are an UNOFFICIAL site for interaction between players and other fans.  They are NOT the corporate feedback channel for either BioWare or EA.  The posts made here by BioWare staff are either; "as directed" (Announcements), or "as personal inclination suggests and time allows" (favours).

Unless and until there is a formal announcement regarding your issue, there won't be any post of the first type.

If you're hoping for one from the second category, then you have to ask yourself:

a)  How long I have I been complaining about this?
B)  What response(s) have I received so far?
c)  How often does telling anyone that they  should "kick somone's behind" especially in another organization really work?
d)  How likely is it that anyone will respond in a manner that would satisfy me when I am repeatedly whinging in public that they won't help me, and as it's not something the people I'm addressing can even "fix"?

I just re-checked how to pre-order DA2  from the publisher (since the only way to get any such material is though the channels the publisher has decided to use, and this one is the most direct out of the many options):

a)  Go to this site (NOTE, it's an EA, not a BioWare site): www.ea.com/games/dragon-age-2
B)  Select: "DA2 Pre-Order - Learn More" from the left hand side, near the top
c)  Select "Pre-Order"
c)  Designate Platform (all are available; PS3, XBox, PC physical, and even "PC Download")

They made it THAT  easy for well over 95% of their customers.

Maybe you could direct your complaints regarding the specific problem that you and a handful (relatively speaking) of others (non-NA, non-UK, non-Credit Card holders) are having in obtaining an alternative to what's available through the link above, to the appropriate EA office.

You might start with Boyd Beasley or Brian Keaster, the two EA Support POCs identified at the top-right of this page: press.ea.com/product.asp.

(BTW:  The domain name here may be "bioware.com", but take a look near the bottom of the page to see who holds the copyright...)

*BUZZER* Wrong!

I only can get the PC download version.

And as I said in a different thread:

Screw you EA**. I'm done with you.

I'll NEVER buy a downloadable game from their idiotic and corrupt EA** Store system. Not until they give me my money back.

And I can tell you out of experience that the EA** customer support will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to evade the question, mostly setting you on the WRONG tracks.
CD key not working? Go to this page! (Which is of course the page you've been on a THOUSAND EFFIN TIMES)
Game not working? Uninstall and reinstall! (As if that will help... >_>)

And I could go on and on and on about this.

The edition looks very nice...

But, is there a chance we are getting a kind of "ultra-special collector's edition"? I don't mind paying $30 more than the usual edition, but I would like to have the game packed into a metal case, with cloth map, lithographs and whatever stuff they can put into an edition.

The "Making of" DVD is also essential (althought I haven't seen if it is available on the signature edition).

I don't know if there's anyone who agrees with me, but I would like a TRULY special edition for my favorite game.

I tried to search through this thread for a question I have but the search results are just a yellow bar - sorry if i'm doing something wrong, I just don't know what.

Anyways, I want to preorder dragon age 2, but I have the steam version of dragon age: origins. Will I still be able to import my save into dragon age 2 with this version so that the decisions I made will affect dragon age 2? I know that you don't continue as the grey warden from DA:O but your decisions still impact the sequel.

A while

B)

Not really
any. And thats what bothers me the most. I know that its almost
impossible to make everybody happy, but this is not the first time
that the more remote regions are left out.

c)
How often does telling anyone that they  should "kick
somone's behind" especially in another organization really work?

Don't know. Never had feedback if they especially did
it or not. Would be funny if someone from Bioware responded with "Yea
we kicked person X at EA, but said to report it just got us kicked
out of the building"

d)
How likely is it that anyone will respond in a manner that would
satisfy me when I am repeatedly whinging in public that they won't

You are partly right that
Bioware can't fix this, but EA has to. The big but is that if I say
to EA do this or do that they probably just ignore me. If someone at
Bioware go's to the proper channels to let EA know there is a problem
with this or that I think there is a much bigger change on getting it
fixed.

I just re-checked how to pre-order DA2
from the publisher (since the only way to get any such material is

They
made it THAT  easy

I want a
disk. I know I'm being picky with that, but if I pay good money for
something I want to be abel to hold an actual item (like a
disk)

Maybe
you could direct your complaints regarding the specific problem that
you and a handful (relatively speaking) of others (non-NA, non-UK,

I will try those, but again I don't expect a lot from
those people

(BTW:  The domain name here may

page to see who holds the copyright...)

That is just
an argument that you should complain on these forums (if you have a
complained)

I'm not trying to be whiny or anything like that,
but I'm getting fed up with addressing an issue (at least I believe
its an issue) not getting any response and seeing that every nice
goody/the extra's go to people who live in the right country

FrostyLazer, I know you're frustrated at the situation and this probably isn't the first time the remote regions got left out of something. But the way you've been acting here, even screaming at Thandal, one of the people here who are trying to HELP you, is not the way an adult would act, but the way a 5 year old child would act. I've been tempted to have my eldest god daughter, who happens to be a KINDERGARTEN teacher, come on here and deal with you herself. lol You probably don't realize that's how you've been acting, but there you go.

Just calm down already. If Bioware isn't responding, that's because there's nothing much they can do to help. They'd probably much rather be able to help than to respond and disappoint even further. But there are people here who have been trying to help you.

Believe it or not Netherlands gets left out of lots of stuff. This isn't the first time I've seen this. I've seen similar complaints from other Netherlands residents on other forums for many different games.

Oh and when you email EA, try to be professional and adult like about it, you'll likely get a better response that way. You don't always get what you want in life, but throwing a temper tantrum like a 5 year old on a web forum is not the way to change that.

Sorry if you take offense to any of this. Not my intention to offend anyone, just point out exactly how you've been acting and back Thandal up.

First off let me say its not my intention to offend anyone ether. Nether is it my intention to whine or anything like that.

Let me rephrase what I said last time to a more reasonable tone.

I'm let down by Bioware that the SE is not available to everybody. Its not just me in the Netherlands, but whole of Asia and many other country's are not included. This reminds me of the last Bioware 'epic community event' where it was just the US that got to participate. I think Bioware should (in the future) make shure that if they do things like this it will be available to everybody who wants to participate.

It is true that you can get an digital download of the SE. Many people won't ever by a version like that because of a
multitude of reasons. I myself want to be able to hold the disk if I'm going to spend money on it. For me its an justification on spending the money. The idea that I actually bought something. With a digital download its starts to look (to me) like a waste of good money.

Then there is the argument that its EA who's responsible for the distribution and I shouldn't complain here.
1) Bioware is a part of EA so I believe that blaming Bioware is not that much off.
2) This is the forum of DA2 and the topic of the SE.
There are proper channels in any company for complains and improvement within. I believe that if the right people at Bioware say to the right people at EA that thing X should be improved it has a much better chance of happening then if I say it to EA customer support.

And it just adds to the frustration that there is no response from Bioware at all. Even an 'we are working on it, but we can't promise anything' would put my mind (a little) at ease. Its been more then an moth since there was an update. Because its so time sensitive people (I at least) get impatient to know if I have a change of owning the SE or not.

I think Bioware makes great games, but with things like this I just get frustrated and let down. Maby my expectations are to high, but if Bioware continues to exclude parts of there community in special edition/community events I'm going to look for my games somewhere els.

As I have said, we are updating our page with retailers as we get confirmation from the retailers that their pre-order page is ready. Just because you do not see your favorite store or country listed does not mean it is excluded. It just means we haven't updated the page yet. Check with yur local preferred retailer or online vendor to be sure.

Can we still expect more updates or is the current list of retailers the whole list now? I haven't seen a retailer yet where I both can order and want to order.

Every retailer has the SE up for a higher price, but perhaps you're right. The price alone seems already ridiculous.

Just make it available on Steam then even the most remote regions on Earth will have a way to get it.

Stop excluding Steam just so you can push your d@mn EA store/marketplace/whatever.
