a) How long I have I been complaining about
this?
A while
What response(s) have I received so far?
Not really
any. And thats what bothers me the most. I know that its almost
impossible to make everybody happy, but this is not the first time
that the more remote regions are left out.
c)
How often does telling anyone that they should "kick
somone's behind" especially in another organization really work?
Don't know. Never had feedback if they especially did
it or not. Would be funny if someone from Bioware responded with "Yea
we kicked person X at EA, but said to report it just got us kicked
out of the building"
d)
How likely is it that anyone will respond in a manner that would
satisfy me when I am repeatedly whinging in public that they won't
help me, and as it's not something the people I'm addressing can even
"fix"?
You are partly right that
Bioware can't fix this, but EA has to. The big but is that if I say
to EA do this or do that they probably just ignore me. If someone at
Bioware go's to the proper channels to let EA know there is a problem
with this or that I think there is a much bigger change on getting it
fixed.
I just re-checked how to pre-order DA2
from the publisher (since the only way to get any such material is
though the channels the publisher has decided to use, and this one is
the most direct out of the many options):
a) Go to this
site (NOTE, it's an EA, not a BioWare
site): www.ea.com/games/dragon-age-2
Select: "DA2 Pre-Order - Learn More" from the left hand
side, near the top
c) Select "Pre-Order"
c)
Designate Platform (all are available; PS3, XBox, PC physical, and
even "PC
Download")
They
made it THAT easy
for well over 95% of their customers.
I want a
disk. I know I'm being picky with that, but if I pay good money for
something I want to be abel to hold an actual item (like a
disk)
Maybe
you could direct your complaints regarding the specific problem that
you and a handful (relatively speaking) of others (non-NA, non-UK,
non-Credit Card holders) are having in obtaining an alternative to
what's available through the link above, to the appropriate EA
office.
You might start with Boyd Beasley or Brian Keaster,
the two EA Support POCs identified at the top-right of this
page: press.ea.com/product.asp.
I will try those, but again I don't expect a lot from
those people
(BTW: The domain name here may
be "bioware.com", but take a look near the bottom of the
page to see who holds the copyright...)
That is just
an argument that you should complain on these forums (if you have a
complained)
I'm not trying to be whiny or anything like that,
but I'm getting fed up with addressing an issue (at least I believe
its an issue) not getting any response and seeing that every nice
goody/the extra's go to people who live in the right country
