Well, TransGaming DO work "at the request of, and under contract to" BioWare, but they are in the driver's seat as far as accepting the project at all. Once they commit to it, I gather they deliver. But BioWare is not the one to decide if/when they do so at all! They can take a look and say, "Pass."sousanne wrote...

BioWare outsources the porting of its games onto the Mac platform to TransGaming.
TransGaming decides IF they'll take the project, and WHEN they'll get around to it....
(Let's just say that they haven't made an effort to match, or even predictably follow, the PC release schedules...)
Thanks for the reply, makes sense to see it that way and not have any expectations I guess.
I wasn't aware of the fact that TransGaming carries the risk of the port. I Thought they work
on behalf of BioWare, but yes, if it is outsourced that is, sadly, another matter entirely.

Everyone gets automatically upgraded if you have already pre-ordered or pre-order between now and January 11. It doesn't hurt to check with your local retailer to be sure though.Rm80 wrote...

A) Highly unlikely.Perfect-Kenshin wrote...
Question: If I preorder the game, will I get the game before it's official release date via male? I pre-ordered Resident Evil 5 and got the game like a week before it's release date from Amazon. Does the same apply here?

as far as getting it early, I think it would depend when they recieve their shipment from EA. If say Amazon has it in stock, ready to ship say a week or two early, they will ship it to try and time if for day of release. If on the other hand they do not get their shipment untill the day before release, you will get it a few days later.

I know there will very likely be a midnight launch for this game as I asked at Gamestop and they said that they most likely will.
I used to preorder online but I always had to wait days after the release to get the game, and I hated that. So I preorder in-store every time from now on. Actually, I avoid ordering games online as much as I possibly can.

Direct2Drive is offering a 20% off all items, including pre-orders, using coupon code: HOHOHO
I'm not sure if D2D is exclusive to the US, but anyone interested should check it out.
$59.95 with 20% discount comes to $47.96

Well, I don't see that it's 20% off; any retailer wouldn't do that with a newly released game let alone a pre-order.
The fact that it's even on D2D could mean that the Steam version is close. We can only hope that it's on there before Jan. 11.

Uhh you have to add the item to your cart and then enter the promo code. It's not 20% off list price..the deal is just a holiday deal for all items at D2D including in-stock and pre-order games.

But re: the SE, what more do you need to know than "the list" of what's being provided?
The price is right (FREE to get MOAR!) and so it was a no-brainer for me.
For the few who may be reading this thread and haven't already checked the BioWare DA2 page, that list is:
BioWare Signature Edition
* A download code for a bonus playable character and missions (Right there, I'm in!)
* Downloadable game soundtrack
* Exclusive in-game digital armory (more stuff) featuring multiple weapons
- Seeker's Bulwark (Shield)
- Apostate's Courage (Staff)
- Adder of Antiva (Longbow)
- Might of the Sten (Sword, 2H?)
* Additional downloadable items (even MORE stuff!)
So, what's not to like?

Lists says South Africa, EA store SA, Dragon Age II non existint, any idea who retailer is for South Africa, would appreciate a heads up please, Thanks!!
If you want the physical copy BT games. Their newsletter a while ago said they would upgrade all preorders to the sig edition. Nothing on their website but I reckon the newsletter had the right info.
Chris also listed them in this thread.
Personally waiting on steam, if not going with gamersgate.
