I would like to repeat my request here:

Dear Bioware, please reveal appearance, class, and flavour text for bonus companion. I want to know what I am buying. This information will help me make a decision between buying now or waiting for UE.

For players from The Netherlands: Mycom.nl has the signature edition ready for preorder on their site. I just got the confirmation mail in.

FYI:

The Signature Edition WILL NOT be on Steam, according to Priestly:

Chris Priestly wrote...

No the Signature Edition offer  will not be available through Steam. The only digital source for the  Signature Edition is the EA Store and already listed retailers. Physcial copies are available at all retailers.

Edit: Misspoke.

Well we finally got the official word that the Signature Edition won't be on Steam, so you'll have to pre-order the game from another digital distributor if you want the SE.

EDIT: Correction. I meant that the SE won't be on Steam.

I expect this happening for future games aswell. No Mass Effect 3 on steam, What was the reason for putting DAO and Mass Effect 1 and 2 up on Steam in the first place?

This just tells me you had no intention of ever purchasing DAII.  Funny how inflexible some of you are and I've been using Steam since it was first announced.  Hardly a deal breaker for me.  (For the record real TW2 fans are going with GOG.com.)

Sure, people got other options, but thats not the point, its about principles. Some people like to have everything gathered at one place.
I for one would hate to have bought, lets say, DAO on disk.. and then find out that DA2 its only avalible on digital platform.

Oh and for the record, real TW fans buy the digital edition where ever they want, and the retail collectors box to add to the allready The Witcher 1 AND Enchaned Edition Limited Collectors Edition Boxes standing on the shelf. Posted Image

Well, that sucks about STEAM. Going with Plan B and pre-ordering with Impulse.

Just curious about it, that's all. ;)

Two quick questions:

1) Does DA2 SE come in a tin case?

2) Are we 100% sure that after 11 Jan Bioware won't decide to release edition with some kind of physical gadget (e.g. map of Free Marches) etc. ? Because from what I've seen the SE just looks like normal edition with some free dlc...

Don't know about that Tamahome...

Well, I've pre-ordered... from Gametap.com, which is one of the few digital services that did sell DA2 in my region. I'm still pissed off about Steam, but I hope this service turns out to be just as good.

1)  No - Different (paper) box art (Black Cover). I presume it does have some additional slips of paper with the special DLC auth codes (and probably some "haven't seen anywhere else" graphics on them as well.)

2)  Yes - (Evil) Chris Priestly's word (TWICE) that this is the one, the only, "non-standard" edition of DA2.  Do I think that someday there will be a DA2  equivalent of the DA:O "Ultimate Edition"  with all the DLC ever released contained on disc?  I would expect so.  Eventually.

(But I have no better sources of information than any other gamer, so what do I know?)

Oh that sucks... I would've gladly spent more money on some real collectors edition of DA2 ... Guess I'll have to settle for SE :bandit:

I doubt this would be an issue. As far as I know, all savefiles are identical. Same reason why all mods work with any version of the game.

Still, some confirmation would be nice, although it's kind of a moot point for me since I already bought it from a different online store.

So, I am looking at all the preorder crap. Why are all the US preorder sites only carrying the "Signature Edition" at $60? I thought you could get the regular edition and it was a free upgrade before January 11????

Because that's the price of the regular edition.
