Sure, people got other options, but thats not the point, its about principles. Some people like to have everything gathered at one place.
And seeing as I vote with my money, I'll not pre-order DAII unless it's the Steam version.
And even if you don't agree with that you have to agree that it is silly that EA doesn't offer the SE on a platform as huge as Steam

Are the SE bonus features exclusive to the SE, or will they be available as to-buy-DLC after January 11th? I would assume that they'd be available as to-buy-DLC, but there were certain pre-order items in DA:O that weren't/aren't available to buy even now. If the bonus items/missions/PC are going to be available later on, then I'll just delay my purchase until the (inevitable) standard edition release on Steam.
(Also, it may seem a silly question, but I've not actually read a canon answer, so...

Actually, I think, right now you can preorder dragonage for 'just the game' and it get's upgraded to SE and you save some money too. I could be wrong, but that's what Iam understanding.

So, I am looking at all the preorder crap. Why are all the US preorder sites only carrying the "Signature Edition" at $60? I thought you could get the regular edition and it was a free upgrade before January 11????
Cheapest I've seen it lately: http://www.cdwow.us/...9870571#bc=2518
Great, thanks! $60 would be the most expensive regular version of a PC game I have ever purchased. Usually they come in around $48 or $49.

"Canon" answer was already provided by (Evil) Chris Prienstly on page 7 of this thread. Re-posted below so you don't have to scroll through. (See the next-to-last sentence):Emoking wrote...

As I have said, we are updating our page with retailers as we get confirmation from the retailers that their pre-order page is ready. Just because you do not see your favorite store or country listed does not mean it is excluded. It just means we haven't updated the page yet. Check with yur local preferred retailer or online vendor to be sure.
Oh and:
THIS IS THE COLLECTOR's EDITION
After January 11, 2011 people will still be able to buy Dragon Age 2, but it will be a standard copy without all the cool free stuff included in the Signature Edition.
So get to ordering.

I don't appreciate this move, but it seems as if BioWare does not want satisfied customers. If BioWare does not release it on Steam at all, they don't even want my money. Strange for a company, usually they always just want my money.

No Steam version confirmed!? Hmmm...not sure if I'm going to even bother DA2 at this point. Serious buzzkill. I get all of my PC games on Steam for a reason.
I assume the standard edition will be available for purchase on Steam, just you won't be able to pre-order till sometime after the 11th of January.

They just lost a sale with me. No steam is a deal breaker for me.
I personally will never understand why people are so stuck on this digital download crap. I'm old fashioned. I absolutely MUST ALWAYS have a real disc that I can hold. Not some invisible data that may or may not actually be yours, depending on the download site. One reason why I think OnLive is a piece of crap (you do not truly own anything on OnLive, just renting it. They can always just remove the game from their servers so you can't play it ever again, money down the drain!)
Downloadable add-ons for games are fine, but digital download games? Forget it. Give me a real physical disc any day. When I pay money for something I want to feel like I actually OWN it.

Anyways... On Topic - Thanks for the replies. I think with all the awesome games being released in the first few months of the year, I'll leave DA2 til the Steam version is released.

Do someone know why Amazon.co.uk sell the Signature Edition but do not describes the additional content in the page ( http://www.amazon.co...D/dp/B0047GNN7K ) ? Moreover this site is not in the Bioware Pre-Order page (even if there is amazon.com, amazon.fr amazon.de ...). It's strange.
Thanks

You know if EA screw steam over in DA 2 theyll probably do the same thing with Mass Effect 3.
Definitely- there seems to be something going on between EA and Valve in terms of getting EA's games on Steam in a timely fashion. You had Hot Pursuit come on Steam about 1 month after release and games like Dead Space 2 coming out the end of January not available to preorder on Steam. Either EA wants to funnel people into their own digital download store or something is going on.

Yep. Thankfully for ME. I started that series on Xbox. So any further EA douchbaggery towards Steam wouldn't be directly effect me. It will still ****** me off on principle though. I mean I got pissed when I heard about the save game limit problems console gamers had to deal with on DA:O and I only own the game for PC via Steam of course.

so to the scandinavians out there you can now have your copy reserved there.
(they also have a digital download though I've never used that so *shrug*)
I still kinda like the "box" although I tend to dig up a no-cd after a while, I hope DA2 won't insist on being in the drive while playing.

It's the same place I got my ultimate edition of Dragon Age Origins. They're quick to ship and the price is right.
