I'm assuming there will be no way to get this content as DLC when the game comes out. Part of me wants that but that would defeat the purpose of preordering it.

Is Best Buy Canada going to have the signature edition?

I checked bestbuy.ca they have pre-orders for pc, ps3, xbox. They got the cover art of the signature edition. But that is all, no further details. I would like to get the game from Best Buy with the 800 reward points.

So far the only place a Canadian can get the signature edition is
from amazon.ca and gamestop.ca. Is Best Buy Canada on that list too?

You see, I asked roughly this question a few pages back. To me, there is still no definitive answer. Neither BioWare nor EA have said one way or the other that it will/will not be available as DLC. Their phrasing of "20 dollars of free stuff if you pre-order now" implies that you'll have to pay 20 bucks for it at a later date, but given that that phrase sounds like marketing spiel, I wouldn't trust it.

After the recent Fallout NV fiasco, I thought I'd never pre-order
another game again. However I realized Bioware has yet to let me down
with at least games that have worked fine "out of the box" for me as
well as being completely immersive.  Heck, I spent time at Comic-con
2010 with some hands on with DA2 and met some fine fans and Bioware
folks. So as not to pre-judge Bioware based on experience with Fallout
NV, I eagerly await March 8th and my copy of DA2 Signature Edition.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

Well, it's looking like the bonus character can be bought for seven dollars if you choose not to preorder the SE.

I have usually seen it at 34.99, so thankyou to this mysterious wand wielding wizard for saving me ten pounds!!
Also, it says that the platforms it works on are windows vista and xp, will it work on windows 7 as well? I will buy it once I know this for sure. Usually games that work on them two work on windowns 7, but I just want to be certain!

The risk of a troublesome refund procedure is worth it... if it means i can get the special edition...

Just a question, how the free upgrade works? As I already stated, I preordered the version of the game from Gamestop, under the name of "dragon age 2 C", that is the only version of the game available. Shall I wait the 11 January for have the preorder upgrade, or shoud I go to gamestop to know what's happening? Paper box - different cover art than the "standard" version. 
All the real differences are digital.

Just wanted to inform all the people who purchased DA2 from GAME.co.uk:

The price has been lowered from £29.99 to £24.99 (GAME.co.uk) - You also get £1.50 (500 points) on your GAME card.

So you're pretty much getting the best deal there for the UK.

I checked today just to see the price for Dead Space 2 and what do I see? Dragon Age 2 Sig Ed for that price, and the fact that GAME didn't lower the price of my preorder from £30 to £25 was a bit annoying, so I just cancelled it and pre-ordered it once more, and after adding my loyalty card points, £20. I'm happy. Saved myself quite a bit o' cash there.

Anyhow, just wanted to let people know.

If, (and we don't know for certain yet) Sebastian IS the "additional Companion", that still represents only part of the SE material.  Besides, "those who wait pay extra, those who pre-prder don't."  That's really what the SE is all about.

DLC+extra items + OST (OSTcosts at least 12/20 $ and you can't critisize the quality of this kind of OST knowing Bioware)
And it's free for you if you preordered !!! F-R-E-E ? Why do you complain about receiving a gift without paying anything ???

Yeah, i noticed that also, so i've just pre-ordered the Signature edition instead of the Original Edition.

I also had quite a few.. card points on my game card, so that's an extra £10 off my purchase, so i've bought it for £15, lol.. YAY :3
