none of those stores are in my country, the only way to get it is through digital download which almost ruins the point for me to get the special edition... I really hope the special edition will reach the stores normally here...

A person purchasing their first game EVER could pre-order Signature Edition of DA2.



It's not a reward for loyal fans - it's a reward for early adopters.

Where did they say this is replacing the Collector's edition?  Everyone seems to have jumped on that as though it were fact, when all this is (to the best of our knowledge) is a pre-order bonus. 

Calm down folks.

Agreed, when compared to other big games coming out this year like Fable 3, WoW Cataclysm, Fallout New Vegas, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood etc its a pretty poor show, espically when Dragon Age 2 is supposed to be BioWare's big game for 2011.

Besides the point its also a bit odd that people can only get the CE by pre-ordering over 3 months in advance.

Would like to see this at Steam. Hit it BioWare, a lot of customers are asking for that (or a response to that). I really hope you offer this piece on Steam too.
If not, I at least hope we can purchase this with the Steam version as well. I will buy DA:2 at Steam (I will need a new PC for DA:2, and Steam makes installing a lot easier), even if the bonus content will cost me 20 bucks more. But I definitely would be pleased to see it on steam in time with this offer.
I think an answer on the Steam question is the least we can ask for.

[edit]: Thanks Mister Mida for this -> social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/260/index/5027014%26lf%3D8 <- link. They say that they will publish for digital versions as soon as they know, I just guess that includes Steam :-).

Hmm i hope not.Cause that means they are experimenting with a big franchise for what?
This Collectors Edition seems as lame as the Tier 1 Medal of Honour edition

Huh... there's no way I am getting this special signature edition. I am tired of the whole "get your code and redeem" scam. I don't have XBL, so I really couldn't care less about it. I made the big mistake to purchase the collector edition for the first one... I got nothing out of it. Oh yeah, just a ******-poor piece of fabric with a poorly impressed Ferelden map. I actually didn't know what to do with it and threw it away.

Nah... I'll pass with DA2 and get the regular edition thank you.

Everyone gets automatically upgraded if you have already pre-ordered or pre-order between now and January 11. It doesn't hurt to check with your local retailer to be sure though.

A lot of the loyal fans are likely amidst the early adopters. And I really can't see how it in any way diminishes the value of this offer even though pre-ordering doesn't necessitate fanhood.

As I have said, we are updating our page with retailers as we get confirmation from the retailers that their pre-order page is ready. Just because you do not see your favorite store or country listed does not mean it is excluded. It just means we haven't updated the page yet. Check with yur local preferred retailer or online vendor to be sure.

Oh and:

THIS IS THE COLLECTOR's EDITION

After January 11, 2011 people will still be able to buy Dragon Age 2, but it will be a standard copy without all the cool free stuff included in the Signature Edition.

So get to ordering.

this isnt really fair there are countries that it hard to get a retail pre order edtion at lest try to put it in steam so we wont have the problem of tax or finding a relayable store
