on the warriors defense though, dog and shale were semi warriors obviously:P

you can't have loghain and alistair so you're basically substituting a warrior for another warrior:whistle:

and mhairi died in the first 10 minutes of the game

Leliana's Song party members were: Sketch (elf mage), Tug (dwarf warrior), and Silas (human warrior), if I remember right. We do have a lot of warriors but Dog and Shale aren't normal warriors, Mhairi dies, and Alistair/secret companion and Tug/Silas occupy the same slot for plot reasons.

I think I remember hearing that we'd have 3 of each class in DA2. I don't know if that means we'll have at least 3, or 3 at all times (so in actuality more than that as some of them become unavailable), or what. I don't remember where I heard that either so I could be pulling it out of my ass.

Mm, yes. knew I was missing one from Awakening.

With the ten-year time span though, it's hard to tell how many of each class we'll have at any given time, true. And how many companions will just be temporaries like Mhairi?

Impossible to say, really. I'm not sure about Aveline being a permanent companion or not. I'm fairly certain Bethany will be.

She's also DLC, so I guess maybe this companion will just be an extra rogue and we'll have 3 more besides her. Since people who don't have her will have to have their 3 of each class.

Ahh, if only all game companies were like Valve and added DLC for free (PC only as Microsoft is a bunch of greedy douchebags when it comes to Xbox) in an attempt to retain customer loyalty rather than try these tactics to attract presales... I mean.. Totally free DLC on one hand, kick in the balls to patient and logical gamers/second hand gamers on the other.. lame



I'm slowly losing respect for Bioware and or EA, whoever is responsible for this marketing strategy, I'm going to seriously look at this game before buying it, extra character be damned.. And don't say "but it's free with a presale" because that's not the point, it's that every game company anymore is turning to quick cash grabs and attempts to crush the trade in market.



Flame me if you want and retort with a bunch of excuses but this is the sort of thing that is slowly degrading gaming into a mess of overpricing nonsense. And they wonder why pirating is rampant...

Even if we analyse the patterns from Origins/Awakening, however, hasn't Gaider or someone else said that they don't necessarily plan companions around their classes or some such? As in, just because there are 2 warriors doesn't necessarily mean there has to be 2 rogues and 2 mages. Or maybe I am thinking of a post about balancing races/gender within the party, hmm. Can't rightly remember now.

you do know they're not charging for this dlc, it's a preorder bonus until january 11th

after the game launches it'll probably be on sale as dlc later on
