i saw some gameplay and from what i saw it yes might still be early footage but its likely the style they will go with. I mean its Mass effect 2 all over again simplifying a game and removing any sort of RPG elements. this is the kind of trends i hate.

It's Origins but with faster animations and no shuffle. What you saw is likely the exaggeration scene where there's barely any cooldowns, you oneshot-twoshot most enemies and they explode into puddles of gore.

Mass Effect 1's shooter mechanics were dirt simple.  Mass Effect 2's shooter mechanics are much, much "smarter."

These trends people love to cite are not one way streets.  Let alone entirely accurate.

Plus what Dave said.

'Bout time one of these threads showed up again.

DA2 forums cannot go untainted for very long.

the game is overspeeded and the enemy is 1hp weaklings so that doesn't matter much

...still, your question reminded me of how Diablo decided what weapons a class is allowed to use and others can't even be equipped, and this sadly DOES remind me a lot of what happened with the warrior class (loss of dual wielding and inability to equip ranged weapons)

*sigh* Everytime you make a thread like this, a canadian die. Anyway, I second what Dave said. It's just faster, people, I don't see any hack 'n' slash.

Yes. You've totally hit it on the head. Bioware has turned Dragon Age 2 into a Dynasty Warriors clone. Hawke now speaks Japanese and does silly poses ALL the time. Worst of all, they made all these changes just to annoy YOU! If you want to get back at them you should NEVER post on these boards again. That'll show Bioware who's boss.

Oh look, it's this thread again. Boring combat isnt a requirement of a "pure" rpg, and if it is, it shouldn't be. i see no indication in any of the videos in question that confirm pessimist's beliefs that combat will have fewer abilities or be any less dynamic than the first game. Just different animations. and Dave is correct; that is the exaggerated portion of the game.

this actually is nothing different from how enemies were shown to die in Baldur's Gate on case of either critical damage dealt death, or if enemy HP became less than -10

Just turn DA2 into Dragon Age: The Return of Kurt Hectic...  That would really give people something to talk about.  ^_^

Is this the 100th time this type of thread has been made? I have lost track.

The only thing I am grumpy about is what jorian said.

well based panic however

I too come more and more to dislike what happens to DA2, not everything, but mostly the gameplay changes, the class changes, and what got torn out of the game that was originally part of DA1

Panic and torn, sounds like a band... Or a song? Eh, take your pick.

The thing I love most about these threads?

Seeing the OP getting their ignorance shown and then never showing their face on the forums again

But in all honesty can you not look at the footage and tell its not even what dragon age is anymore. Sure they have special moves but at the moment it is pointing towards a more action packed less Rpg element game. I Love dragon age origins and i only wished for a few changes like the armor styles and more in game options.
