The character is not your because you have not the complete control of what you are going to say.. You have only a general line of text of what your character says.. How many time in mass effect you fell out of character because shepard says something complete different of what you are meaning?..
You select a line the character talks alone and says what the character says but not what you choice to your character to say... This is why i hate mass effect dialogues system.. Its to much linear you cant select nothing you are a spectator you are not in the character.. And a nice rpg must make you feel in your character..
Except that you didn't have complete control of what your character said in DA:O. In both cases you have a limited menu of dialogue choices.
