That's a bummer. >.> Still, I picked Anderson simply because I needed to have someone on the Council who would listen to me. And for the moment, that was not Udina.
Next time around, I'm keeping Udina up there out of mercy to Anderson and because I'd like to have someone yell at me every once in the while. I was starting to feel a little like Sergeant Ramierez from CODMW: Shepard! Make me a sandwich!!
That being said, if the Reapers demand a human sacrifice, I'd chuck Udina bound like a pig to them. Take one for the team, sir.

Udina is not that different from The Illusive Man come to think of it.
I don't know, I never got around to picking Udina I just hate the guy!

Retribution is written on an assumption that Udina was chosen as Councilor in the first place in order to support the story (ie, Anderson being able to go on his merry way). It is not a retcon or events, nor has any assertion in any medium been made that Councilor Anderson got the boot/quit.Merchant2006 wrote...
But anyhow, according to Retribution, Udina is Councillor and it seems Anderson steps down from his position... so I guess irrespective of the choice perhaps Udina will be the councillor and Anderson an Admiral in ME3? :|?
If you chose Anderson as Councilor, Anderson is Councilor. If you chose Udina as Councilor, Udina is Councilor. Retribution is written (and depends on) the assumption that the second choice was made.

Udina runs a intergalactically labeled terrorist network with a penchant for severely unethical and illegal experiments?michael1983 wrote...

It doesn't matter. They are both right. It is all in how you play the game.

I think Udina is Cerberus. There are a few comments in ME2 that could point that way. And there´s Col. Tigh promotion in the comic. Nice timing.

Cerberus's approval of what he does correlates to Udina is Cerberus? Cerberus also approves of Anderson as well, and we actually have evidence of Anderson talking and working with Cerberus-affiliates.Nerevar-as wrote...

Udina having ulterior motives in Inquisition can well be because it, you know, his job. It doesn't necessitate ties to Cerberus by any means.

I always chose Anderson over Udina.
In my latest playthrough of ME1, my Shepard started out as a xenophobe. But as he started to work with aliens like Garrus, Tali, Wrex, and Liara, his attitude towards aliens changed and he realized that humans aren't the only ones threatened by the possibility of genocide by the Reapers, and that they'll have to work together with the aliens to improve their chances of survival.
Thus, I chose Anderson.
Although I can probably see why people would choose Udina. Being that he has more experience as a politician, he'd probably have an easier time making the really hard decisions. I can't really see Anderson doing that.
