When is Gaider going to expound on the fact that Morrigan and Allistair are siblings?

Dear Holy Maker's hard nipples..... this theory(and majority of this thread) makes me want to drench my brain in ACID. Why does this theory exist? I have a feeling no Dev will answer this question, because they're too utterly speechless at how someone could come up with a theory like this. Someone pass me some acid now, so that I may insert some through my ear and hope it eats through to my brain. Please.

When it comes to the million of theories floating about, some makes sense, but this is one of those that makes me do a double-take and say, 'Wuhhhhh?' I've read both books and never saw anything that implied Flemeth and Maric rolled in oats, if you get my drift. The reference to what Flemeth and Maric were doing seemed to be answered in The Calling and nothing sexual was implied. Just Flemeh discussing the future and giving Maric cryptic messages. I would think if something even remotely sexual happened, it would have been indicated more strongly other than, 'Maric's face was horrified'. Anything could make Marrc react like that. Like, idk... learning what may happen to his country... or learning he won't live to see the next blight... or Loghain might horribly betray him in the future. Frankly, if that were the case, if I were Maric, I would have done more than look horrified. I would was ran off screaming and let the wolves eat me. (Unless Flemeth took the form of DA2 Flemeth. That would probably be less horrific. LOL)

And the implications this theory makes for the dark ritual... that's more than dark, it's disgusting. Bad enough I made Alistair sleep with another woman and make an Old God Baby, but now I made him do it with his 'half-sister' and made an in-breed Old God Baby? *shivers* I may have unintentionally screwed Theda over. Opps... going back to all my games and just sacrficing my Wardens. kthx

To this theory, I'll say: 'Let's not make mountains out of mole hills.' Don't read inbetween the lines when there is nothing to be read.

And this is why they won't ever officially confirm it.
Sensitive folk like this.

I don't think a dev will ever confirm nor deny this theory because the dispute amongst the fans is just far too amusing.

I agree. I can imagine them now,  jumping up and down, frantic in anticipation of the next new wild theory...

Mary Kirby starts to post a response

David Gaider  screams..."no no no! please let them continue, I want to see what's next, I want to see..."

This also explains their constant bickering. My god, if Alistair slept with Morrigan...we ARE going to have a Archdemon. A inbred Dog/Dragon/Human baby who has a fondess for mirrors and cheese!

With Lukas laughing manically in the background and Sheryl getting distracted by something shiny?

Anyway, this debate/theorycraft has been quite tame compared to many others I've seen around these forums. At least we aren't trying to rationalise why Hawke should be able to have an intimate relationship with Bethany.

The book made this pretty clear since Flemeth got it on with Maric (making them half siblings) and that Allistair and Morrigan are around the same age. Where is Gaider going with this? And are we going to get Allistair's reaction for players who had him do the Dark ritual.

I'm reading The Stolen Throne right now, and just finished that part in the book, and came to the exact same conclusion.

Morrigan and Alistair are both Maric's children, and both could be in line for the throne. If Alistair is pronounced to be king in your play through and then does the dark ritual with Morrigan, then...

That baby has some very royal blood. And could be in line for the throne in DA3! (depending on save imports and all that.)

*Ahem* Just read that Gaider already denied this possibility. Nevermind me, got excited.

 Asking for a source link is irritating? I'd like the source link to where Gaider said Morrigan and Alistair aren't related.

The only thing those posts deny is that Gaider was deliberately referencing Arthurian legend, rather that it happened accidentally and they all foudn it amusing. There isn't really a denial of Alistair's possible blood-relation to Morrigan.

Most likely because its just too amusing to watch the fans bicker about it.

Alright fine, you have a point. But I thought that's what people were arguing, that Alistair was clearly Arthur and Morrigan was clearly Morgan Le Fay and it's all a big plan by Gaider, or something.

I still don't think they're siblings, but you're right, he did not say "they are not siblings".

I've only made him do it once... and if my Warden had later learned they'd been related she'd laugh her bony elf ass off. She loves him but she has a sick sense of humor since Morrigan was her BFF.

There is no relationship between Alistair and Morrigan

If Maric had a child it would be human

None of us on this forum know Morrigan's true nature.

The closest we came was when David Gaider said she was 'Other'

I had no idea Alistair's mom was an elven mage. That's so adorable for some reason.

I highly doubt Flemmeth is Morrigan's real mother. She's an abomination of sorts and it seems unlikely abominations can breed. There is no evidence of abominations reproducing, right? As far as I'm aware, the being has to be invaded by a demonic presence.

Coming to think of it, that body of Flemeth's is waaaaaaaaay past fertility age. The woman is centuries old.....

She is NOT Morrigan's mother and...

We do not know what Morrigan is

We know *Flemeth* isn't human. Chances are, Morrigan is a human though. That's not to say I support the theory that she is another Theirin, just stating that no where has it been said that Morrigan isn't human.
