Did anyone else go Renegade just for the cool scars?

Holy sh*t. Yes, that will work just fine. Tell me, who could romance that? Totally destroys the romance scenes.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Love and attraction is only based on looks.

I hate having to pay 50,000 platinum.

Its hard to come buy, and all the best upgrades need it.

So you would feel fine mating with someone if there face was splitting open, red scars were glowing through, and their eyes were built in night vision?

Truly sir you are a model to us all.

GAH! so creepy!
I don't think FemShep's scars were as dramatic as Male Shepard. Did anyone else notice that?

I went with the scars on my male Renegade Sentinel, just to have a playthrough where I have them, but my Renegade Femshep Infiltrator used the medbay upgrade, and my Paragons, of course, don't need it at all.

Hell yeah I go renegade for the Terminator face. It makes being bad more gratifying if you have a Hellraiser grid on your face. That and it's genuinely intimidating.

Which is odd since they seem to intimidate literally no one.

You guys must be kidding me, I thought the scars were a bloody good addition, almost made me feel nostalgic for KotoR. Have them all the time, never heal them. Even on my female Shepards. Goes well with the red hair and the green eyes are nice base for the red glow.

They look bloody awesome, menacing, feared. And that's exactly what I want. And if anyone on my team or whoever doesn't like it, guess what? He/She would get spaced through the airlock or get a 'bullet' in their face.

The part that indeed does suck is that no one ****ing comments on it, unlike KotoR. Bioware should definite fix that in ME3.

I had my renegade shep take the scar treatment just to get rid of the scars. They make him look like some kind of cyber-leper.

Hey, my Shep is totally willing to do a frog-lizard and bird-dinosaur.

Besides that, I don't think Jack would care because she thinks they're hot. Tali always had a crush on you and is a different species, so she wouldn't care. And Miranda saw you as a hunk of rotting meat, so...well, red leprosy scars is an improvement.

Thane and Garrus are different species and Jacob is the same deal as Miranda.

No, but having moved to PC I do have all available morality values set to show the very lowest level of visible scarring; I feel it drives home the whole "Lazarus Project wasn't quite finished" element if they never go away. The psychosomatic flesh-splitting is a little absurd unless we're willing to entertain the idea that some of Shepard's bits are Reaper-sourced, Cerberus-built Husk-style components, as those could be desiccating and altering the tissue themselves.

But seriously, 50,000 platinum is hard to come by? Do you ever scan?

Yes, this. So much this.

Can anyone get me a picture of scarred renegade Shepard doing the creepy smile thing? I so want a picture of renShep doing the creepy Miranda leer.

I did it (but no screenshots) and it doesn't look as creepy. The creepyness is balanced with the disfigured face.

Was it a custom Shep or the default? Because I've noticed custom Shep handles the look better period.

And dude, look at Shepard's body in those two pictures. It's totally different.

His arms are different. The vest makes him more muscular all of the sudden.

The link between your morality and your appearance is the worst feature of the game. Really. I hate it with a passion. Were there not a way to remove it, it would've made me pass up on ME2. No other feature has that distinction.

The reasoning for it is crap as well. Renegade choices are supposed to be the pragmatic choices, not the passionate ones. Someone inserted a completely inappropriate piece of Star Wars lore into ME. The scarring represents everything I don't like in SW, and I do not want it in ME. Ever again!

And that we had to pay 50K platinum to remove it is adding insult to injury.

What I miss is my scar from ME1. That was cool. ME2 Renegade scarring is just silly and makes a connection between the physical and the moral that simply doesn't exist. It feeds the cheapest stereotypes in existence. The thought of having to play such a figure makes me cringe. Renegade scarring begone!

I guess I don't need to mention I always cheat 50K platinum into my games. I also make a point of creating very beautiful Renegade femSheps.

They look identical to me. Just different sleeve lengths hiding the bicep.

Default. I only have one custom and it irritates me how his face animates.

The contours of muscle that characterize the tricep bulge just below where the bottom of the sleeve would be are...

Wait, I shouldn't explain this, it may be that you do not have the eye for critical male muscle analysis. Not all do. It is a Gift and a Curse.

If you miss the ME1 scars and play via PC, may I suggest Quething's Scar Continuity Project?

I'm kind of in love with the FemShep Dramatic Scarring, so maybe I'm biased, but Colonist Shepard with a long triangular scar extending out from the corner of her mouth just screams "backhanded by a batarian slaver and left for dead". I like letting her carry that around.

/ad mode, but maybe it'll make someone happy

No glowing scars, paragon or renegade, I just don't want to watch the face of a space zombie even when I am playing one.
