  This is the RPG fo the generation. We have been waiting for this since Baldurs gate 2. It would be a shame to just install and play like any other petty game, we should treat this one with love and respect.
 I think we should have a little ritual before playing. It would be fun if par example some users here could film their reactions joy and their crazy behaviors once they got it. We should make some kind of ceremony.
Maybe we could make a competition of the worthiest treatment of this historical moment in our life. 


I myself will be ordering the finest of scotch whiskey for this moment.

Um... sorry. I'm very boring in that regard. I'll plop the DA disc on the DVD tray, hit the close button, install, spend an inordinate amount of time building a character, then finally play. During all this I'll probably be smiling. Maybe I'll even giggle excitedly a few times as the reality that I finally get to play DA sinks in. But that's as far as it goes for me.

I will not move from my comfy gaming chair for at least 5 hours. All the while I will be mnchy on some good snacks (Jelly bellies are a must). Then I will pause, make love to my 360 and resume playing for another 5 hours.

Once I get the game, it shall be played for a few hours. Then I'll probably be distracted by such concerns as "making dinner" and "spending time with girlfriend". And well, the day after release all my friends are coming over (as in, travelling 170km) for a weekend of old school P&P rpg. My ritual will thus consist of me installing, starting up and not playing for three days...

The day of, I will wake up at 9 am, make myself a good, hearty breakfast, drink tea, and wait. When the mailman comes, I'll tip him a lot of money, and open the box by the window with a lot of ceremony and hold up the box like I'm from the Lion King. Then I will celebrate with brownies and many sweet things. It will be installed, the map attached to my wall beside the posters of the Origins, and it will be played late into the night. I will forget to eat. There will be much water and tea and holding on as long as possible before going to the bathroom.

As my rather old (mid-2003) ware rig is currently down because of a Windows issue of some sort, I won't be playing DA:O for quite some time.  It's profoundly difficult to get excited for a game when real world issues like software glitches and tires that need replacing are getting in the way.

This economy bites!
