Is the redhaired woman shown in the TW2 promotions Triss?
Yup, thats her. One of my favorite video game dames.
I just know she still has something up her sleeve.

It´s likely they are following from the books. After almost every important sorcerer in the north was a Xanatos Sucker for the big bad, they lost a lot of political power. I think Triss was Foltest´s advisor back then, a position she can get back at the end of TW1. And then there´s the kind of open resolution to the main plot in the saga. Sitting around is not a valid long term option as you could see in Jacques´mindscape. That´s the actual future of the world so far.

I just started Chapter IV (whoa, sparkly sea castle... WTH?! but I like it), so trying not to read too many spoilers, but I was quite surprised at the turn of events when you have to choose between the women. Interesting to see the consequences of that down the road.
The wise little girl playing by the beach is so cool. Be sure you talk to her more than once.

To an NPC who just lost someone he loved: "Don't do anything stupid." Ah Geralt, such a softie. LOL

I also love how he acts with kids. You know he's basically a good guy and protects the weak, but to that kid in the swamps who preaches at you: "Buzz off." "Do you want a beating?" Oh god, that killed me.

I keep hearing it's really good in Polish. It's too bad we only get the translated version, translations are never as good. There are times when I hear things I figure have got to be poetic or make more sense in the original.Damariel wrote...
heheh... yeah It's a great scene... in Polish language is even better
. Chapter IV is a tribute to Polish romantic poets
so yeah it's my favorite chapter .
I am guessing Dandelion the poet sucks just as badly in Polish as in English though, right?

You can download the audios and subtitles for any of the localizations free. Was part of the EE. Don´t know if you can continue or have to restart the game. I play in Polish with English subtitles (2nd version), way better than the Spanish ones.

Although there was a lot to improve on, I hope they do address it in TW2. It looks really amazing from the previews so far.

I hated the Order though, but Siegfried was a pretty fun character. Pretty much like Alistair, just a lot more uglier and even more awkward. It was hard getting through with it til the end since I liked the non-humans in the Witcher world. They're not pathetic whiners that sit around doing nothing, but actually fight back.

Couldn't say no to the sexy dark-haired elf guy. That was pretty much a given. Go Scoia'tel! Burn! Pillage!virumor wrote...
I'll have to replay the game to generate some end-game saves (lost them all in a computer crash). Apparently the Order ending, Scoia'tael ending & neutral ending will each lead to a different beginning of TW2.

No matter what, I recommend English speakers to at least play with the Polish voice overs. They aren't quite up there with Bioware's voice acting but they are quite good and much better than the English version. The Polish voice actor for Geralt is perfect.
And here's a screen shot that gets me excited about TW2. Triss burning some baddies!

I liked him after his motive rant. Then I re-read the fourth book and he was there, I´d forgotten. The ******* killed humans for pleasure. I really missed the option to shout at him that it´s not human´s fault elf males are much worse in bed (second reason of elf low fertility in the books - I´m seriuos) after he wanted to kill Ciri.Addai67 wrote...

Really, the combat is awesome. It may take some getting used to it but once you master it, particularly in Expert difficulty where there's just a very subtle tip about the proper timing for subsequent attacks to form a long unstoppable combo, the moves are amazing. Knowing what to use against which type of enemies, mastering the alchemy system and the secondary properties in potions that are a must to kick-azz throught Expert diff, the magic system which is cool too, for those who like it and may want to make that the primary weapon.
TW can really be a lot more familiar to BW fans and more enjoyable too, if on the first playthrough it is done with the Isometric Camera (F2/F3). The OTS camera was something that made me hate the game on the first five minutes. After 2 full runs though (Intermidiate and then Expert, both with Iso cam), the OTS camera became very easy to adapt and control and combat was no longer an issue. It becomes very instinctive, the timing thing, just like using the hotkeys to change styles/weapons according to what is best for the situation.
And because I enjoy it, it does not mean I cannot equally enjoy different combat system from different games, like BG/NWN or the Gothic/Risen series (one of the best CS, imho). I just love them all. They're all great games and I feel lucky because I'm not stuck in a tunnel vision that will not let me savour their greatness which also resides in their differences!
Three must-have games for next year: The Witcher 2, Dragon Age 2 and Risen 2 (no release date announced but I'd expect it for late next year, early 2012, if we make it that far.. hehehe)
