I liked him after his motive rant. Then I re-read the fourth book and he was there, I´d forgotten. The ******* killed humans for pleasure. I really missed the option to shout at him that it´s not human´s fault elf males are much worse in bed (second reason of elf low fertility in the books - I´m seriuos) after he wanted to kill Ciri.

Shhh, spoilers.  I am about 3/4ths through the first book.

Anyway, consequences... sometimes you trust people you shouldn't.  It happens.

How many of the books are translated to English? I read most of them in German.

2 are. Last Wish, the collection of short stories and the first novel, Blood of the Elves. Another will be out pretty soon if I recall.

I´ve read all the books save for the last. The game spoiled a lot of deaths, and  I must also make an effort to avoid metagaming, especially with Triss. And I miss Yenn (you are about to meet her), hope CDP aren´t pulling a Liara preLotSB.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie]

Can I ask... WTH is up with the little monkeys running around? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there were no wild monkeys in medieval Poland so I'm confused. LOL

It isn´t medieval Poland.

Narreturm also by Sapkowski is set around medieval Poland, it´s historical but with many fantasy elements.

I think they are some sort of creature from Polish folklore. And if you look closely, they are not at all monkey like, but more like a little dog/gremlin thing. Cute little buggers, anyway.

Well I'm assuming it's medieval Poland-esque. Obviously I know it is a fantasy world.

They are cute, but this being the Witcher I half expected to be attacked by a pack of them and have to do spinning monkey defense!

I'm reading one of the books and I'm finding that Sapkowski draws liberally from several traditions. Theres a fair bit of Norse stuff in there at any rate.

Another weird thing. The gremlin creature appears to be female. Don't ask me how I know....
