I'm playing the game on near max settings. I set the anti-aliasing down a little bit since it was slowing down the game during the VATS menu. Anyone know if there is a solution to this problem?

And vault 34 is indeed a hellhole. By the time I got out my radiation level was at 758 and I had already gone through the dozen or so radaways and rad-x's I had.
First time in any of the Fallouts that I seriously feared dying of radiation poisoning.

I've noticed a technical issue with the PC version. When I'm traveling along the Mojave desert sometimes the game will randomly lock up for about 10 seconds as if it's about to freeze and then everything will go back to normal.

Did you use the fix? It supposedly speeds up the game.

Well I didn't get any bad karma so yeah, it could have been a glitch. *Gasp* Fallout NV is glitchy? Who would have guessed...DragonRacer13 wrote...

But seriously, when I hit the launch button, the dome automatically opened and then the rockets took off. So, maybe you got a visual glitch?

Also, someone mentioned Gun n' Run or something like that... where? This place is pretty gun-poor as far as I can see. It will help once I finally figure out how the crafting works.

I haven't heard of the fix. I heard all patches were automatic though so I figured any changes were already made.
Is there a specific place I have to go to download it?

You can wear T-51b power armor but it can't have brotherhood in it's name.Morbo wrote...
So, casually turning up at an NCR controlled place while wearing Brotherhood power armour is a big no-no!

The best radiation resistant armour I've found so far is the space suit. You can get that if you're doing the Come Fly With Me quest, which should start in NovacAddai67 wrote...

And the Gun Runners do have a great store for guns (it has a lot of caps too, so it's a nice place to sell your more expensive loot). You can find it right outside the east gate of Freeside.
Joining up with the Brotherhood of Steel also gives you access to a store with a very nice selection of weaponry (gauss rifle!).

*Spoiler alert*
When benny invites you to his suite, tell your companion to stay put. I lost Raul and I'm not sure whether he's completely gone from the game or where he is.

Ok thanks. Haven't gotten to Freeside yet. I'm doing a pretty straight NCR character I guess, so the Brotherhood won't be overly friendly.Morbo wrote...

I was having a bit of a time finding quests that weren't too hard, even playing on Easy. I'm getting along, though, I guess.

I think the sleep/eat/drink stuff mainly changes how the game feels, it doesn't really present an obstacle in my opinion. But it *feels* a bit more genuine. The big cruncher is the healing over time though. I fight many battles very differently than in Fallout 3, and have been forced to do tactical retreats to allow my health to go back up. It really makes the combat feel more exciting even though it's not hugely difficult (unless you go out into the really dangerous areas) in itself.
Also (even though I've personally never been a fan of the radio in Fallout in the first place), I'd really encourage everyone to try turning the radio off once in a while. The soundscape is really excellent, and the ambient music is really nice at times (some new original stuff composed for this game, some stuff from F3 and some stuff from the two older Fallouts). Audio-wise, it's one of the better games I've played.

The biggest obstacle in hardcore mode would be that sleeping doesn't make everything better. Any experienced Fallout player could handle the rest.Leinadi wrote...
I'm playing on Normal and Hardcore. Think I might bump it up to Hard next time around (especially since I'm playing a character focused on non-combat skills).

Eating: Just go out hunting. You could also buy food.
Water: Slightly harder to find than food. Buy the short supply from merchants or find food that quenches thirst.
Sleeping: Not that hard to find shelter. Like the hotel room in Novac or maybe victor's shack after he left.
The biggest obstacle for me is radiation and limbs. If any of my limbs were crippled, I could just pop a stimpack and no problem. You now need a doctors bag or need to find an actual doctor.
Radiation accumulates and can be annoying. Apparently, For me, there are much less radaways in this game than there were in F3.
It gives a challenge, and I like it.

Some hair mods are already up if I recall.
Oh, I just checked then and they put up another hair mod since I checked last night, still not quite what I am looking for, I tried Rikais beauty pack which I really did not like and while the new mod for the nova hairstyle does look nice it still isnt quite what I was looking for. However I am looking on the New Vegas Nexus but are there any other mod sites up for New Vegas mods?
