This game is incredible!

You know, Fable III comes out tomorrow and I have it pre-ordered so I'm going to pick it up.

However, I think I'm actually going to wait 3-4 days before I play it so I can get more out of Fallout New Vegas.
I really wasn't expecting this game to be this good.
Bioware, you guys taught Obsidian well.  Lol, poor Obsidian will always be thought of as Bioware's pupil thanks to KOTOR 2.

I love this game too. New Vegas is superior to Fallout 3 in every way I can think of. I've been very immersed in the side quests and areas. Still haven't touched the main storyline.

Just hug the wall on your right as you come out of Freeside East. As you reach the south end it will curve away to the right and there should be a guy with a stall, bot inside. You can play Caravan with him as well.

Thanks.  I haven't gotten into the card and gambling stuff yet.

There are 3 easy achievements to do with gambling - roulette, blackjack and slots. 10 times each game. 1 cap bet is fine. 10G each.

Played first Caravan game yesterday, still haven't figured it out.

Caravan is really fun and pretty simple, just read the rules once or twice and you'll get it pretty fast.

I don't really like the Wild West theme compared to the post-apocalyptic Capital wasteland. Also, the Caesar's legion is ridiculous, I just can't take these clowns seriously.

I haven't found voice acting & dialogue to be much better than in FO3 so far, either. I do expect the companions to be better fleshed out, though.

Hardcore mode is a bit of a mixed bag. Health regeneration works okay against human opponents, but not so much against anything else. Many dangerous enemies like nightstalkers attack in packs, meaning one will often be simply reduced to Benny Hill tactics, i.e. running backwards shooting while your health recharges.

When my NCR reputation got bad enough they sent 4 of their goons to bring me in. After I kill them am I safe, or do they send multiple waves of goons?

Caesar's Legion is awesome. They wish to bring about a new Roman Empire! I think in a post-apocalyptic society, bringing order to the world would be a top priority so that is why I support a dictatorship like Caesar's Legion.

Someone in-game makes a good point about Caesar's Legion. His men don't follow his ideals - they follow him, personally. Once he dies, the Legion will collapse unless you can replace him with an equally charismatic figure. The NCR at least has a stable political structure, even if it's very much like the old world structure that killed everyone in the first place.

Wouldn't that rather be the Enclave?

Did I hear it right that you have to have a whole deck before you can play?  If so, ugh... not scrolling through all those cards every time I look in my inventory.

You get a deck from one of the guys in the starter zone. The other cards are just there to add to the deck.

Cass at Mojave Outpost will mark it on your map if you ask her about work.

Heh, I found them finally.  I didn't realize they were outside the gate.

Expensive buggers, eh?  And I was salivating at what looked like a sniper rifle on the wall, for which I would have paid beaucoup caps, and there weren't any in the sale inventory.  Must be some kind of scoped rifle.

From who??  I asked someone in Primm to play and they said I needed a deck so I haven't bothered with it again.

I think you can get the deck from Ringo, the guy who's having trouble with the Powder Gangers chasing him.

Well that would explain it, as I never met  that dude.

Man... it is going to be hard to recruit anyone but broody sniper boy.  I could practically hear Unchained Melody playing when I recruited him.

Actually, concerning sniper rifles... I found a unique varmint rifle with all mods installed in a cave somewhere south of Novac... it has heightened magazine, sniper + scope.

It's been one-shotting everything with a sneak critical to the head so far, save giant radscorpions (& deathclaws, but these things are ridiculous). Really lovely weapon, I reckon I won't be needing anything else for a very long time. Also, with E-DE and his sensor I can spot enemies from very far away, giving ample time to set-up an ambush.

Well I met Marcus who said that he named the town after an old friend and how he helped a tribal find the GECK to save Arroyo and later, blow up an Enclave oil rig. Love that fan service:wizard:

I also just went to Jacobstown myself. Was nice seeing Marcus. I think they did pretty well on connecting the two first games with New Vegas. Cass is a nice touch as well.

Only thing I don't like that much is that I think too many factions are returning and it doesn't always feel like it makes a lot of sense. But generally speaking they've done well with it.

Well the only faction I doubt that it would survive are the Khans (After the vault dweller and chosen one, you know) but Everything seems to connect. Fact: The legion were originally going to be in Van Buren (The original Fallout 3).

I heard somewhere they put out like a simi-playable version of Van Buren or something. Any truth to this?

Yeah, there was a very short, early tech demo or something of Van Buren that got leaked a few years back. I vaguely remember trying it.

Edit:
Van Buren tech demo

I played it too. I'm glad that this WASN'T Fallout 3. Van Buren would have been another abomination like Brotherhood of steel...
