I just entered Camp Guardian caves and I hear some creepy music. Should I be scared?

Do you like lakelurks?

These lakelurks don't seem scary after their head explodes into pieces from a .50 caliber BMG round:P

Is there a way to do the "For the republic Part 2" Quest without loss of karma?

Ive searched and searched, and talked Edwards out of his tag, but ive officialy messed up camp searchlight. For the life of me i cant find them all.

Who's done 'the legend of the star'? When that thing started telling that story after saying i'd done it my heart sunk! Soon (sort of) relieved though....

Does anyone think the Devs actually played Caravan on a console? Anyone? Other than it being a chore to play, they didn't utilize the d-pad, which would have made scrolling easier, ecspecially if you have a 'used' controler. This is the last achievement I need (Win 30 hands of Caravan) and I can't keep the sticks still enough to select cards. I purchased a new conrtoler but that isn't a guarantee it's sticks will be perfectly centered. Extremely frustrating. I can over-look the mountain of bugs, the usage of the same engine (all the while keeping the same bugs), but this issue kills it for me.

Other than that I thought the game was really fun, the iron sights and factions being great, but the companions left alot to be desired.

Caravan controls are pretty bad on PC as well, but using the key board to play it pretty much fixes that.

I got six wins in less that 20 minutes, though the frustration was nearing the 'tossing of the controler' level. So I shut the game off, I suppose until my new pad gets in.

Anyone else hate the 'no-continuation' of game end? Perhaps Obsidian was to busy learning how to use the engine rather than listening to complaints of the previous game.......Of course DLC will probably mend this. As a side-note, the ending (though you knew what it was going to be from the beginning) was lackluster.

Just FYI, I went there just 30 min ago, and Boone and Rex got stuck inside and I can't seem to get them out.  Looks like I'll have to go back to my save before going into 19, and I'll send them home and redo by myself.  Fortunately it isn't too long.

For those who have completed it... how in the hell did you decide who to side with? I know i can play the game again but i kind of dont want to due to its length

With the no continuation, i really cant believe that. DLC might well fix that, but will we get to play our character or will we have to start again do you think? If thats possible i might stop playing until we get some...

Many Vaults (Inside areas) have this problem, ecspecially when detecting enemies at range. Ed-E was the worst offender, but I found that if you (save before of course) go through a loading door, or Fast Travel they'll appear with you. I had alot of trouble in Vault 11 because of Ed-E's perception boost.

The Dog and Veronica are the two hardest companions to keep in tow.

Yeah, those tags in Searchlight were annoying.  It seemed like the 9 (other than Edward's) were all on ghouls within the irradiated zone around the town.  Other ghouls (outside of the town's irradiated zone) didn't have them.  Maybe that will help you?  It took me forever to find them all, since I'd already shot up most of the ghouls, and was only missing one or two of them on the ground somewhere.

I had to laugh when I finished A Valuable Lesson.  I had a feeling it was going to end that way.

I finished thinking I could traverse the world further and get the lvl 30 cap, but was shocked to see the same result of the first = end game.

What I choose to do was level as high as possible before killing Benny, all the while trying to stay neutral (2nd playthrough).

I was level 26 before proceeding to the main campaign story(ies), at which time I saved. From that save I could go with Caesar, Wild Card, House, or the NCR. Being level 26 at this point was a great help as well, because I could easily win any speech challenge, pick any lock or repair any device.

This will also be the save I will revert back to once DLC arrives, being the character is already developed and if need be I can finish the campaign quickly to play the DLC, but from which ever alligence I choose.

I only just found out which ones were campaignish really, i stupidly thought it revolved around that chip, and doing quests for the factions was doing like quests for the mages guild etc in oblivion.

See, I tried that - fast traveled, and they wouldn't show up.  Maybe I needed to save, too?  I already lost ED-E (permanently, it seems) in Vault 34... so I am not going to risk losing someone else.  I save all the time now... before going through doors, before starting quests, etc.  I even escort companions home before dismissing them!

Fortunately I'd already done ED-E My Love, but still... I liked having him along.  I had taken him all through 34 before with Boone.  This time, I was only going back quickly for the Pulse Gun with Veronica.  ED-E got stuck in a stairwell, and wouldn't move, even when I did the Wait/Follow switcharoo.  So, I just told him to go home.  I saw the message saying he would be back in Primm... so I went on about my business.  But when I went back to get him after a while, he wasn't there.  He also wasn't where I'd last seen him.  I had gone so far in the game, I didn't want to go back several hours... plus I was really pissed.  Looking back, I kind of wish I hadn't been so careless with him.  Oh well... next play-through I guess.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png[/smilie]

ETA: Stupid Rex sits down and stops following me at random times... I'm always having to check over my shoulder for him.  I miss ED-E...

Well, you weren't 'careless' with him, the developers were. They should've lowered his hover height. Is it possible you didn't check in the Mail Office in Primm? I know it's a stretch, but worth asking I suppose.

About the only other solution I found was trying to move a companion with my character, which is frustrating, or using the 'Back-Up' selcetion from the companion wheel. I suppose I've played the game and encountered most areas enough at this point to know when, where, how and why I should use my companions. That, and the Fallout Wiki helps, to a degree. Ed-E is rather buggy anyways, though he and Boone were my primary companions. While I was able to do most of the companion marked side-quest, Ed-E's was completely glitched because I picked up the Repconn holo-tapes before I was instructed to by the Ed-E My Love quest marker.

I think typically, if you leave a companion at wait, or is stuck and you tell them to go home (I always say to the Lucky 38) they will appear (or go 'home') within 3 days of that command (stores also restock every 3 days).

Boone will most likely get nerfed in a future patch. There's apparently a bug where his guns skill is always 100% from the first moment you recruit him, unlike with other companions. That's why he kicks major butt even from very low levels.

Then again, Veronica's Unarmed skill is 103... and since you can get her the Paladin Toaster + Power armour very quickly after recruiting her, she's pretty much the same as Boone.

Yep, I tried "back up" from many angles, and tried to push him around to get him unstuck before I sent him home.  I've also checked back repeatedly to see if he'd just taken the scenic route back to Primm.  Pretty sure it's been way more than 3 days.  I also checked the 38, even though I never send anyone there, because I've heard it can 'lose' people, too.  No luck.  I don't know how he got so stuck, since I'd taken him all over 34 previously.  Maybe I'll swing by Primm again and check, and wait 3 days... just to be sure.  I mean... where could he BE???  Grr.

ED-E and Boone were my team, too... until I lost my little honor-student eyebot.  Rex, as cool as he is, just can't fill the void.

Na, Ed-E definately > than Rex. Have you checked the Vault you lost him in? I know, it's a ton of hassle to go back and check, and probably a lost cause at this point in your playthrough.....

See, this is a very simple 'enhancement' Obsidian could've included; a simple AI tracker. Now is this necessary in every game in which you have companions? No, but it is in a game where the toughest opponent you'll face is the game mechanics.

BTW, I started over with a better understanding of the game the first time I lost Boone in a cave.

True, true.

Yeah, I think I did go back and check... once I realized he was gone.  Maybe I'll try again in a while.  Can't hurt, I guess.

I agree about a companion tracker - it would be so nice to be able to pull up where my buddies are on my pip-boy pimp-boy.  Not just for when a companion gets epic-ly lost like ED-E for me... it would be nice when stupid Rex takes a break and sits while we are walking somewhere, or if Boone gets stuck behind a fence/cliff face.

There are ways to get lost companions back you know. The easiest being through the use of the 'moveto' console command (if you're playing on PC that is).

More on that here
