Do i really have to kill House and the Brotherhood (which i do coz Mcnamara no longer has the power damnit)? Its a hard life in the wasteland
Spoilers
You have to kill House, but you can make a truce between NCR and the Brotherhood.
SPOILERS
He said Mcnamara no longer has the power so he is forced to wipe out BoS.
I made the same mistake and now I have to replay the entire game since I won't attack BoS....

I heard you can still do it with console commands if you have the PC version.NamiraWilhelm wrote...

I suggest either you restart the game, reload a save, or pack an anti-material rifle with armor-piercing rounds.NamiraWilhelm wrote...

Why do they have to do that again? I hope there will be a DLC like Broken Steel....NamiraWilhelm wrote...

Even better, it's just a simple console command
I wish I could go to Hardin and tell him about NCR's plans and then with some BoS support wipe out the NCR, while I like NCR BoS will always come first. After I heard I am screwed I left Boone at Lucky 38 and took Veronica with me, gave her and me BoS T-51b and vistied the Hoover Dam, I didn't save though.
So am I, I bought the 360 version first (will get the PC version later) because 360 gets the DLC first.

I like it much better this way actually. I don't think it's a game where you should aim to do everything in one playthrough. Set up a character concept and do the quests that make sense for that character (there are enough quests and options for this to be pretty viable) and make a new and different character when you beat the game.
My first character was a weak, non-combat focused woman who was good at Speech, Barter (quite worthwhile in this game with many dialogue options using it) and Science. She ended up supporting the NCR. My current character is a grizzled, survivalist, slightly-insane cannibal dude who doesn't shy from combat. He's currently leaning towards the Legion.
New Vegas has some of the best roleplaying options in a game for a really long time now, I'm definitely gonna make use of that.

I loaded an old save to do the Mr. House quest for the achievements, and I'm finding him to be a pretty decent guy. He is full of him self, but he's not dumb and even has some good ideas.
I find House the Neutral path, he dosent care who must die to get what he wants, but what he wants is pretty good.
Hardly, when all he, the NCR and the Legion want to do is dominate the landscape. Wild Cards is the only path where you're not required to wipe out all the opposition. In essence there is no neutral path, someone is gonna die.

Does anyone know where there is a lot of non-faction power armor? I got Boone in T-51b, I'm in Remnants' power armor and I'm waiting for Arcade's quest to come up so I can get another.
Why not just switch out their armor when using one or the other? Have you stolen the T-51 non-faction armor from the BoS merchant? You can steel it through the wall with no consequences. It's to the left of her. I think there is a suit in Hoover Damn, but not sure where. Besides, who needs Power Armor when you can get Chinese Stealth Armor?
Also check the Fallout Wiki. If it's in the game, they've written an article about it.

Will do. And it says "Companion is unable to wear that faction armor" whenever I try to put it on someone (Exception for Veronica with T-51b)B3taMaxxx wrote...

You can leave Mr. House alive as a helpless vegetable.
The Brotherhood, I could care less about those jackasses after they put an explosive collar on me and sent me out to do their bidding.

Ever try going back into one of the sealed bunkers a few days after killing or asking the Ranger to leave? Pain ensues....

If there will be any type of romance, I want it to be tasteful and meaningful. Not like the pointless marriages of Fallout 2 or even worse, Fable 2.Irish Groat wrote...

Why not? The BoS are a bunch of inbred asses that kill anyone with anything more advanced than an energy cell. The only decent group is in DC. And they're still sort of pretentious.

Only faction I hate is the Legion. Were they supposed to be morally grey? They're nothing but a bunch of sexist slavers that cosplay as Romans for some incomprehensible reason (Hegelian dialectics, of all things). Caesar also has the charisma of a cauliflower, it's hard to believe how he ever managed to unite so many tribes (and keep them together).

There are good points made about them across the game, most noticably how the lands they control are much safer. Raul also don't feel they're too bad. But it just gets buried in the evil imagery unfortunately.
It's perhaps the biggest missed opportunity in the game for me. The idea of it is really interesting and they really could've been made into more of a grey faction. Brutal and violent, yes, but perhaps still worth it for the wasteland? But they took it too far into the "ooh these guys are SCARY" realm.
