Oh you guys... I totally came to the Bioware forums to distract myself from waiting for New Vegas. Now I must see this review as well.  Edit: ah, no review... oops.

Here's the current part that I'm watching.

While I'm very interested in New Vegas, I will wait until I hear the reports on bugs and glitches before purchasing. If I'm going to sink dozens of hours exploring Nevada, the major quest paths darn well better work in the end!

Also, gun reloads are much faster.

I think I'll go with Arcade because he's Chuck LOL and Rex because robot dogs are awesome.

Also it would be sweet if the dog said your name so I would name my character Shepard so I'd say Rex and he'd say Shepard Lawls.

No. Obsidian increased the gun spead overall. You don't need a perk or trait(they're bringing back traits) or any of that stuff.

I'll go with Raul, the mexican ghoul. Former Vaquerio (Cowboy) and mechanic.

I'm with ED-E. I fell in love with those things ever since I saw the gameplay trailer.

Oh jeez.  This is SO not helping distract me from the 2 day wait until release.  :P

To be honest, I haven't played Fallout 1 & 2. I've only played Fallout 3.

I am also ashamed to admit this.  I am planning on getting them and playing them, though.  I've heard too much great stuff about them.

The interview with Christ Avallone starts at 20 minutes in otherwise they talk about Halo or something before that.

Also I am NOT ashamed to admit I haven't played 1 and 2 I tried it and the gameplay turned me instantly off.

lol Sorry about that

As for Fallout 1 & 2, I must say that it's hard to get me into games that are, let's say, over a decade old, so, my bad, I guess.

Really?  What did you not like?  I have not played them at all.  I know they are old, but are they very different?

Also, good news: Ghouls do not have the same voice like they did Fallout 3. So you're in luck, VanguardOfDestruction.

All I can tell you is that they are MUCH harder than Fallout 3.

Its been a long time but as far as I remember their turn based and very tactical which is not my thing.  Reason I can never get into Final fantasy is the the turn based type of gameplay.
There has been ONE game in all existance that kept me entertained that was turn based and that was Warlords 3: Darklords rising and I can't for the life of me explain why I liked that game.

Hm.  I can deal with harder, as long as it's like challenging-hard, not frustrating-hard.  I am usually not patient enought to deal with the latter.

Ugh.  I don't typically like turn-based play either (or FF).  But, I guess it doesn't hurt to give it a spin... eventually.  Maybe when I find myself without anything to play, I'll try the first one and see.

Its a steamworks game....
you have to activated it through steam and even if you have it on your computer you cannot play it until tuesday its that simple.

Ugh, I hope this doesn't screw things up.  The Games for Windows Live forced connection on FO3 ruined the GOTY for us completely, and I finally deleted Steam since it would stop working after every update.

A fun fact is that there is a gay companion in New Vegas, I think it's Arcade (no you cannot romance him).

Been watching a stream a bit but didn't want to watch too much as I don't want to get spoiled. Think the settlements in particular feel much more believable. In particular, the town where you start really feel like a sort of farming ghost-town. Also saw a bit of Freeside (which is like a slum before you enter the Strip) and it really felt like the slummy areas of The Den or New Reno.

The voiceacting and writing is so much better, that alone will make a huge difference.

Speaking of romance, I want romance included in Fallout actually and NO I don't want it to be a wh*re. Completely taisteful unlike Fallout 2. You could sleep with a LOT of people in that.

It'd be nice to have a romanceable character in Fallout, I guess. Shame you couldn't hop into bed with Bittercup in Fallout 3.

Mind you, Fallout 3 sucked with that regard. Your "sleeping with Nova" option was basically sleep in the same bed as she was in, and she doesn't even say anything after. :|

Bittercup? Ew. I was thinking more along the lines of Sarah Lyons. I'm not sure about Amata though. What about for female characters?
