um.... NO! Death Claws were mutated experiments from Pre war Enclave tests they were going to make them into battle animals, Radscorpions are there, because they were in pet stores.

Bah. Can't keep up with the changes in the FO Bible. Last time I read it, it was mutated bears.

BTW, according to the wikia it was the US Military, not the Enclave.

big diffrence...

@Chick who drools over boone.

They should make your ending canon, then the FO4 character can be Boones son :D

@Guys talking about cass, yeah that is f*cked up... theres people on Rule 34 making porn about it already.

Did you not complete his companion quest? Also depends on who you side with for the ending. I did his quest and joined forces with the NCR, and got a pretty good ending for him
And i also wanted to make sniper babies with him....

I did complete it, and I thought I was pretty nice to him, told him he could make up for it with his deeds now etc.  But you got better looking armor by saying "war is war, people die", so maybe that's what made him go off and...

*spoiler*

...kill the officer who led the attack on Bitter Springs and then kill himself.

Yeah Boone has some sad endings. Not as many as Arcade though. Almost all of his are sad.

Arcade is one of the more tragic characters who gets penalized for his Enclave history. Not fair, is it?

Big spoilers, all of Arcades endings.

  • If the NCR wins and Arcade fights at Hoover Dam he is identified as a member of the Enclave and forced to flee east, pursued by bounty hunters, NCR Rangers and the Brotherhood. He is never heard from again.
  • If the Legion wins and Gannon fights at the Dam, he covers the NCR's retreat at the Mojave Outpost. However, when one of the Rangers identifies his father's armour as Enclave gear, he is captured and imprisoned for life.
  • If New Vegas becomes independent and Gannon fights at the Dam, Arcade is hailed as a hero and uses his Enclave knowledge and technology to keep order
  •  If House wins and Gannon fights at Hoover Dam, Arcade leaves the Mojave, never to be heard from again.
  • If the NCR wins and Gannon stays in Freeside, he eventually returns to NCR territories and becomes a Followers teacher.
  • If the Legion wins and Gannon stays in Freeside, he is gunned down in Westside as he helps some of the locals escape Caesars grip.
  • If New Vegas becomes independent and Gannon stays in Freeside, Arcade helps the locals govern themselves.
  • If House wins and Gannon stays in Freeside, Arcade, disillusioned with the Followers of the Apoclypse and settles down on the outskirts of the Boneyard where he works happily as a family doctor.
  • If the NCR wins and Gannon was sold into slavery, he dies during the Legion's retreat and his body is heaped with those of many others in a nameless ravine on the Legion's long march home.
  • If Caesar survives and Gannon was sold into slavery, he becomes the Caesars' favourite intellectual sparring partner. After years of servitude, he commits suicide by disemboweling himself with a scalpel and his bare hands during one unguarded moment.
  • If Caesar is dead, the Legion victorious and Gannon was sold into slavery, Arcade is crucified by Lanius, who grew tired of his acerbic wit.

I never knew the NCR was an enemy of the enclave, though.

It's mentioned several times in the game how the NCR went after the Enclave in full force after the events of Fallout 2, resulting in them wiping out the main Enclave base in the Core region, at Navarro.

But didn't some Enclave join the NCR? Specifically the squad you can get to help you defeat Frank Horrigan.

Seriously, I heard that Cass gets drunk and does it with a random fledling instead of mah hero in one of the possible endings! If that's that true... than it's a total downer man! Downer!

John Cassidy is dissapoint!

Cass, you wh*re. I got you out of that bar and along with the rest of my team, I save you a million times on hardcore and we kick legion ass. And you say "You're not my type"? Neither is some random NCR trooper you slept with after you got drunk.

Obviously the writers at Obsidian hate twu luv. It's probably a dig at BioWare romances. Dammit, don't they know we've all been GAIDERED over here!!! Give us our happy endings!

No it's worse she wasn't even drunk. She just opens the wrong door sees you're not there and ****s some random trooper.

Anyone know where I can find more stealth boys? I find the "Sniper rifle ranger killing method" to be tough without them.

I never really found a shortage of them. Have you met Tabitha yet? On your way there you'll collect afew, and the starting quest with Manny Vargas should give you several.

Now what is this "Sniper rifle ranger killing method" you speak of? Are you trying to kill Rangers for one reason or another? Or is this what you call your build? If the former, sneak and c4 works well to collect "Black Ranger" armor.

If not, the special gauss sniper is by far the best ranged weapon in the game. Alpha Deathclaws are a 1 hit kill. Wild Wasteland prevents you from obtaining it, though.

I just completed Fallout: New Vegas after about 75 hours and I don't really have the urge to play it again. I understand that Obsidian had only a year to work on the game which becomes obvious from the distinct overall lack of polish but most importantly it seems that it was really hard for them to play in Bethesda's sandbox.

Obsidian's writing was definitely better than Fallout 3 but the world was poorly designed and nowhere near the standards of Bethesda's open worlds. There was hardly any reason for exploration which forced me to fast travel regularly unlike the previous game that made me want to explore every nook and cranny.

I think it would be a much better game if the developers had the time to work on their own engine which would probably be more appropriate for the kind of relatively linear and story driven games that they know how to make. However, it appears that their superior writing was lost somewhere deep in the Mojave Desert.

What, like the hideous Alpha Protocol engine?

Obsidian's work on the Alpha Protocol engine was obviously not good enough, but regardless, the point I was trying to make was that Fallout: New Vegas wants to be a story driven game even though it is made on Bethesda's Fallout 3 engine that is tailored for sandbox games which somehow doesn't feel right.

Actually, Fallout 3 is arguably more story-driven in how it tries to weave a dramatic and more linear storyline with more personal relationships as a driving force. New Vegas is much more about an open main story where the focus is more on the player's actions rather than an emotional story.

Everyone says it had better writing but I don't see it.  Maybe, as you said, it could have come out if they had had more development time.  I just felt a lot of locations lacked character and story at all.  Compare the Sunset Sarsparilla factory to the Nuka Cola factory.  I kept wandering around the SS building looking for something "more."  Whereas you had the little "Nuka COLA!" ditty the robots were singing, NukaLurks etc.

It makes me worry more for DA2, to see the difference between a fully developed game and one that's been rushed.

I do appreciate the personal quests of the companions.  Now I wanna go back and do Charon's personal quest.  :(

Did anyone manage to get that NCR ranger armor you see on cover of Fallout: NV?

I'm level 12 and did a fair bit of travelling around the map, but have yet to see a single NCR ranger wearing that armor.

Camp Golf has quite a few. But I don't believe you can get the armor in game short of killing off a ranger. There are a few addons that will give it to you though.
