I believe Bethesda has always released DLC on the 360 first then everyone else.

Jumping from this awkward misunderstanding, will anybody care about getting achievements/trophies? I'm just concerned with getting the Hardcore one.

I'm holding out to see what they are, first. I have all but... I think it's 5 in Fallout 3, and it's entirely possible I'll go after them in New Vegas.

Wasn't the 360 called the lead platform for fallout 3?

The first and only game I put any effort into getting achievements was Mass Effect 1. And by the time I was done getting 1050/1050 (after Bringing Down the Sky) I stopped caring in the whole concept.

Anyway, Im excited for FNV because I have no idea what I'm gonna do in it, except with some vague notes on what my toon is gonna be:

FNV Stuff:

Traits:
Trigger Discipline (why waste ammo?)
Good Natured (I only use one of the weapon skills that get penalties, but use all the good natured skills that get bonuses)

Perks:
Think Fallout 3 (a note I wrote to myself after seeing leaked lists and not seeing a whole lot stand out, but I understand Intense Training might be more worthwhile this time given that the Bobbleheads are replaced by something more difficult to acquire)

Planned SPECIAL
STR:4 (3 is needed for most guns I checked, but I'm thinking I will regret this being low)
PER:6
END:5 (Would probably have to be much higher for hardcore)
CHA:5 (Normally I'd set this much lower but I'm covering my bases for first playthrough)
INT:8
AGL:7
LCK:5

Tag Skills: Small Guns, Lockpick, Medicine

Since I heard that Repair as a game mechanic isnt going to be as key that throws my typical "first step" in FO3 out of whack and I'm not sure what I'll need first, nor am I sure if I'll do hardcore to start (probably not)

I think luck is going to be important in this game if your not planning to glitch or cheat.

I never glitch or cheat my first playthrough, but my opinion on LCK has always been to never put it below 5.  I'm also a skill point wh0re so I need my INT.  I imagine my crits are going to suffer which might be a problem.

What did you hear/do you understand about LCK's importance? (in FNV)

I'd consider raising that strength a bit, to be honest. You won't be able to carry much loot/gear with such low strength, which could easily cause issues. I think you're also missing a point, too (Don't you get six/seven SPECIAL points? I forget)

I read five, and that's what I used.  If I had 1 extra point I'd put it in STR, if there's 2 extra, I'd then bump INT to 9.

In terms of inventory, I'm not much of a packrat.  I don't like the aesthetic of power armor or big guns so I never use them - so my endgame STR requirements are never terribly high.  Still, I wouldn't be shocked if I'm cursing as I slowly crawl to the nearest town as I'm fully encumbered.  But I leaned heavily on Repair to maximize loot value in FO3 and I'll see if its possible again in FNV.

Normally I'd just drop CHA but I understand that it effects - at a bare minimum - the reliability of companions, who I intend to try to use more than in FO3.

Well it's a general perception with this whole vegas gambling thing.

Good point. The only consensus I've really read - though I haven't looked hard - is that the people who have crunched the numbers say it isn't going to be possible to have a jack of all trades character be effective as there simply aren't enough points to cover all skills and it will be more effective to specialize.

It'll make for some interesting choices.

I just saw that on The Vault. How strange, but I suppose it goes back to the earlier "style".

I'll probably bump Agi up to 8 and Int to 7 (Or vice versa). I'll be wanting to get my Firearms up, though.

Yeah I'm gonna miss the AGI hit from my FO3 build, but I'm gonna try to compensate by relying less on VATS.  I recently got back into shooters with Bad Company 2 after a many-years layoff so I'm better prepared now to dish out some freestyle punishment.

What about the new armor and clothing?

The Elite ranger armor looks pretty cool.

The classic enclave advanced power armor looks great but I don't think it's confirmed

WOW to much spoiler activity going on around here.

BOS FTW!!

You should at least watch the intro to the game. It only spoils what was already revealed before launch.

Do you have a link?

Does everyone here realize that once again, as usual, Bethesda screwed up the video cards named for minimums?

There is no such thing as one single "Series" of  Geforce 6n00 graphics cards (at least not within the normal scope of that word in current usage).  There were four, with the 6200 and 6500 being business grade, inadequate for Oblivion (same engine) or for Fallout 3,  The 6600 cards were supposed to be that company's Mainline game cards, but only the 6600 GT turned out to have the kind of speed that Oblivions needed, but it had too little RAM on it to be useful.

That leaves only the 6800, of which two are crap (the SE and the XT are both slower than the 6600s).  Fallout 3 had the Vanilla 6800 as its minimum, and the Radeon 850 as the AMD minimum card, but in that case, it was the same as for Dragon Age, with the 850 being the only one still supported for drivers, and the X700, X800 needing the Omega Driver instead.

The safest option will be to consider the Fallout 3 minimum as still applicable to the Geforce cards.  Why the Radeon now named is the one that sold very few in that name, with most examples of that card having been sold with the name X1600 Pro, not X1300 XT, that isn't at all clear, either.

P.  S.  Funny thing is that a really huge objection for me regarding FalloutNV that passed totally under my radar until now is using Steam for a DRM purpose for all buyers, no matter what kind of game, be it hard copy or digital.  I wasn't visiting Bethesda's sites between the end of last winter, when I got tired of Fallout 3, and a coupls of weeks ago, so if there'd been any kind of large outcry, I had missed it.

I really do not like Steam, not at all.

Actually, I wrote it verbatim, as you see it, using the terrible composition tools offered here on the Social Forums site. I wrote something similar three or four days ago on Bethesda's Fallout NV forum (what I wrote for GameFAQs was styled differently, also about three to five days ago). Has something similar appeared anywhere besides there and here?

Somehow I don't EVER want to go on the Steam forums or, even worse, the NMA forums. Little kids and fat 30+ year- old virgins (A lot, not all) will persecute you for having a different opinion.
