Also I read somewhere else that Obsidian/Bethesda were planning on 7 DLC's altogether, at the moment it stands at 4. Is anyone even hoping for more DLC's for this game?

It's been known (through looking at files from the game) that 4 DLCs have always been planned. The names have been known since basically the release of the game as well, just that Bethesda didn't announce them until now.

9.99 is too much for these New Vegas DLC packs. I'd pay 5 at most considering the high quality mods available for free. Oh well, I'll be too busy with other games when May 17th rolls around for the next DLC release.

I'd be interested in these amazing mods that supposedly add new stories, good roleplaying and new characters as good as those in Dead Money because I sure can't find them anywhere.

Compared to shorter DLC packs for other games I would've thought 9.99 is a fairer price.

Also here's the link with the talk of more DLC's (an older story it would appear) and seems they have considered 8 of them. Having played a bit of New Vegas wouldn't Ulysess and the Burned Man be central characters to the story and therefore should be the last of the DLC's?

Dead Money was a lot of fun and content, for me at least. Compared to what other developers call DLC, Dead Money is quite meaty and the price tag is quite fair for that. So, if Honest Hearts (and the other two DLC announced today) are in the same league, nothing to complain about.

I find Fallout:NV to be my favourite Fallout of all, and DLC is always welcome!

How would you say it stacks up to Fallout 3's or DA:O's DLCs? I only have experience with Operation Anchorage, Point Lookout, and Shale. The former two made me feel like I was going to die of boredom. I liked Shale though.

I loved Dead Money but it takes approach of a "survival horror". Still enjoyed it because its a quality dlc.

Looking forward to Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road.

It's really hard to compare it with Shale because they are two completely different things.

Dead Money is not for everyone though. It severely limits the player (especially on Hardcore mode), resources are much rarer, the environment is constantly against you with traps and stuff, there are some enemies (though they are few) that you can't kill. It's also not open like Point Lookout for example (though if you explore you can find a lot of resources).

There are three companions exclusive to the DLC and they are really well-written and acted. The DLC is very well written overall and provides a nice amount of choice for being a DLC.

The kicker is if one can accept the gameplay which is *very* survivalist, very punishing if you don't take it slow and forces the player out of his elements. A lot of people found it immensely annoying. Definitely not for everyone.

For reference I thought Operation Anchorage was pure garbage and while I did like the design goals of Point Lookout (providing a more explorative experience similar to the main game), I didn't find the quality of it particularly compelling. I liked Shale a lot but don't really consider it a DLC in the same vein.

I'm underwhelmed, but then I didn't like the game that much to begin with. With the higher price, I doubt I'll be getting any of the DLC unless I'm really, really bored. Which might happen, since it's a long time to Nov. 11th and Skyrim.

If *that* really is the mythical Joshua Graham, then I must say I am more than underwhelmed.

If you found Point Lookout boring there is no hope for you.
The best part of Fallout 3 easily came from that DLC.

I started Dead Money last night had to force myself to quit its almost better than Point Lookout!

Nice to hear that Dead Money has some cool elements. the stills haven't really appealed to me.

Available on May 17, Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah's Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.

Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier's story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.

Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts look like the best of the bunch.

I suppose I will have to wait until there is some kind of DLC package sale

I think Point Lookout is a perfect demonstration of what not to do in an RPG. Tons of wandering and terrible combat in a vast area of nothing but filler quests with a few uninformed decisions for the player character to make for good measure.

I would've thought this describes Fallout pretty well.

The main game of Fallout 3 has lots of wandering and terrible combat(most RPGs have terrible combat imo), but it doesn't emphasize the terrible combat. There's lots of interesting locations and quests to do. You get to actually make meaningful decisions(to your character) instead of finishing a covert Chinese mission to blow up a submarine 200 years after it was supposed to for some bizarre reason. And there's reason to care about areas in the Capital Wasteland and some of it's people. I don't see any reason to care about Point Lookout, unless you like idiots and trashpiles.

Too bad the game is buggy as hell, i just updated the previous broken update (lol?) It definitely plays a bit smoother and the guns work better. Still love the fallout series to pieces. About damn time we got confirmation on the Honest Hearts release date too.
